Hmm, that seems like bad style. _That's_ the reason that those pages don't wrap. They include lines that must be entered exacly the way they are, such as shell commands to start up Zope. FWIW, the pages are written as Structured Text, which converts to HTML automatically from the text file that ships as doc/CHANGES.txt. --Paul

Tiny Table Zope 2

Zopists, Has anyone else had trouble referenceing a TinyTable that is one lever above the DTML method asking for it? Hello, Another Zope alpha release is out. It looks like we're getting fairly close to a Zope 2.0 beta release. Many intrepid people have been using the alpha releases and submitting patches and bug reports. Soon Zope 2 should be ready for wider consumption. * Jim Fulton announced the availability of Zope 2.0a4. This version fixes a lot of bugs and adds a few minor features. The client applies the rules outlined in the HTTP spec - if you send an unauthorized, you will get a password prompt; there is no other standard (or nonstandard) way to get a client to stop using it's authentication token. But surely the management interfaces use the user folder mechanism to authenticate (that, and checking for the superuser account), and the vanilla acl_users folder doesn't use cookies for authentication. So the concept of raising Unauthorized to "log out" won't work very well with browsers -- if I understood the solution correctly it means you'll get a password dialog in your face when you hit "Logout". Not very elegant? Besides, the question applies to the management interface, and the proposed solution would only work for a straight DTML page. Requirement for 2.0

Hi, I have been using Zope in a small scale within my organization for since things went opensource and I really like the tool, and the ease in which I can manage content. However, I would like to state that for the user base to expand significantly 2.0 needs to be very easy to install on a hosted website (http://www.hiway.com/) . This is where most of the new sites are coming from (check out the information from www.netcraft.com) People with hosted accounts have apache and cgi and want a trivial way to set up and get content online (Frontpage does a good job here). Please consider this a *massive* potential audience for this tool and build simple configuration scripts, yada, yada, that make this a trivial task. Comments? Mark Interrante

Reporting a bug in the Solid DA

I'd like to report a bug in the Solid DA, but there's no subcategory in the Collector for it, as there are for the Oracle and ODBC DAs. Is the Solid DA still being supported? (If not, that should be indicated on http://www.zope.org/Download/Adapters .) (Perhaps the Solid DA should be deprecated in favor of a DA that sits on top of mxODBC, or the existing ODBC DA could be ported to Unix.) The bug, BTW, is that when Solid automatically closes a database connection after 30 minutes of inactivity, the Solid DA doesn't realize this and reports connection errors; you need to open and close the connection to make queries work again. newbie question; getting started

Hi folks, I found zope rather cool, curently I'm evaluating. But I can't get it working for real. I want to do a rather simple thing zope does all the time. But I spent many hour right now failing to figure out how. I have a form, which posts to a method. The method shall a) increment a persistent counter b) put the content of one of the form fields into a new object (I assume I want to use a document here?). The name of the new object shall be derived from the counter above. Better yet it would modify another document sticking it somewhere into the middle. But I think that would make it too complicated for now. Done. Stupid me, but I can't get myself over that starter problem. Thanks for each and every hint. /Jerry
