Hi, IMHO, Zope *is* fairly easy to build and install. I had to muddle through a bit to get it to work on pair's servers, but I did get it working and it would not be difficult to make sure that the install docs contain the necessary info. The big issue that I've found is that many hosting companies do not want people to run Zope because of its resource requirements. It takes a lot more of a machine's memory to run a bunch of Zope instances than it does to run Apache instances. But, I think people would have a similar issue with ColdFusion. Just as there are hosting companies that offer ColdFusion as an (optional, usually) feature, I think it would be good for many of those same companies to offer Zope. CodeIt does a really good job today of offering a fully-baked Zope service. I don't have to muck about with the Zope installation at all. IMHO, having hosting companies offer some preconfigured Zope services is a bigger win than making it a bit easier for people to install Zope in their user space (which is against many web hosting company's policies anyhow). hi zopistas, here is a tricky one and i haven't come up with a good solution so far. i have a site which uses a common standard_html_header to display all site navigation links. what i want to do now is make the "help" link, which is part of the standard_html_header, context sensitive. for this purpose i somehow need to catch information within that header about what document it is currently being called for. i experimented with something like <a href="help__html">HelpLink</a> to retrieve data from the REQUEST, but document_id still resolves to either standard_html_header or to the ID of the folder holding everything. anyone have any suggestions or done something similar? Hopefully, I got it right ... you are talking about treating a folder as a document, right? I thought of that too. While it works, it's not natural, at least to me. If you are talking about something else, please let me know. Remote management of Frontier is next to non-existent. There's a lot more, however, trying to compare these two products is not a very productive thing to do. Cache Problems

I am running Zope 2 and am having some squirrelly things going on with the cache. I have been having some problems managing the site (for instance adding something to a folder and having it appear in the folder above, deleting something and adding it back and the old version is there). So far this has all had to do with images, so I was assuming the browser was caching sloppily, blah, blah. Client Detection in Zope

I am a digest subscriber and have enjoyed the list very much. Great job! I am currently trying to figure out how I can use the powerful DTML 'macro'ing capability to build pages dependent on the browser and its services (plug-ins, Java, JavaScript). Is there a way to do this from the server side that would give me this information or am I relegated to the client side detection? Thanks in advance for your assistance.
