PIL/Photo Product win32 installation?

I just read a slew of month-old posts on EGroups about my exact question ... but to no avail. I installed PIL in the $(ZopeDir)/lib/python/Products/Photo directory. If I leave PIL's default __init__.py (empty) then the Photo Product is not "broken" but creating a Photo instance dies with "Attribute error - Image" in photo.py. If I instead follow the instructions and copy the __init__.py distributed with the Photo Product in the install_PIL subdirectory then the product is broken with the previously reported "_imaging" dll error. PIL works fine with my non-Zope python so its got to be a configuration error. Help from one of the many who have faced this problem (and conquered it) is much appreciated. Cheers, Darran.

Zope and python -O

Another concern with ZODB is the max DB size: on Linux based system with the ext2 file-system and the kernel patch, the max file size is 4 GB; since the Zope DB is stored into a single file (right?), this mean that the max DB size is 4 GB. The solution I had in mind to store customer's account is a folder containing one instance of a custom ZClass to store general user information and one ore more instances of another custom ZClass to store address informations (do you known better solutions?). But a quick test has revealed me that with this system, a user account will take about 2 kByte; with a max DB size of 4 GB this lead to max 2.000.000 users; this is for sure a big number, but if you consider the probable big number of dummy registrations, I think it's not unreachable. I'd like to access Informix server from Zope. Is there a database adapter available? If not, how can I use informixdb-1.3 in conjunction with Informix's ESQL/C to integrate Informix support into Zope? -- Milos Prudek

UserLDAP and HTTP Authentication

Hi everyone, I've just installed Zope 2.1.4 with UserLDAP and was able to connect to the LDAP server fine and get my list of users. Now, what I wanted to do is have HTTP authentication based on a certain attribute like 'access' for example. How is this done? I'm new on Zope and still trying to learn python. I'd really appreciate any help. Thanks in advance, Mike

I did try creating another ZClass with DTML Method as the base class, but it didn't make any difference -- the id still wasn't rendering properly. I'm using Openlink multi-tier (to access Informix 7.3 on HP-UX) and Zope with ZODBC running on an NT box. If I can help please get in touch. OpenFlow aims to be the Open Source Workflow system, a complete set of tools for the workflow management and document management. Our target are primary public administration in Italy, but we guess that this project could be of some interest to the persons in this list. Participation to OpenFlow is hoped and welcomed. OpenFlow is build upon the Zope system.
