That looks to me like something in ZCatalog? import problem cvs -> 2.1.4

I have a package installed and running on a cvs release of Zope and would like to move it over to an installation running 2.1.4. I exported the package (it's PTK btw) and ftp'd it over to the new site. When i try to import <filename>.zexp it bombs out saying: Zope has encountered an error while publishing this resource. Error Type: AttributeError Error Value: 'string' object has no attribute 'Splitter' along with a slew of Traceback info which I can post.. :) This same file reimports nicely into the cvs version. My question is, are there significant differences between Zope cvs (last week's cvs release btw) and Zope 2.1.4 that would make this import impossible? The same version of PTK are installed on both sites btw. Thanks for any feedback. The blame goes to Evan Simpson, who pointed out a problem which would allow people to construct links to a Zope server such that it would cause JScript (or other HTML-embeddable scripts) to be executed in the user's browser. This script would appear to come from the Zope server. syncing zcatalog

hi all, how do we keep zcatalog in sync so that searches will not return random numerical key error. we now update manually each time we discovered key error. if there's no common solution, we may have to set up cron and update at a fixed interval. another questions is: is it true that after zope runs for a while ( in my case, 8 days running), zope tends to get slower, or is it my imagination. when i restart the zope process thru the management interface, i sense that it responds faster. can any guru clue a newbie here? tia -- ------------------------------------------------------ http://www.kedai.com.my/kk Am I Evil?

Two questions...

1) Given a ZSQL method that takes one arguement (a primary key) how can I pass that information on from where I call the ZSQL method with <dtml-in> i.e. In a DTML method, what comes just before this line if I know that login is davis. <dtml-in getUserSQL size=1 start=query_start> I have tried: <dtml-let login="_.string.lower('davis')"> <dtml-call "REQUEST.set('login', 'davis')"> This works the first time I call getUserSQL, but breaks the second time with a different login as it appears I can only set the login variable once. 2) Since you can't have <dtml-sendmail mailto="<dtml... get emails from database. (nested <dtml> statements), how does one iteratively declare a list variable and then add to it. Then my mailto="_.string.join(listvar, ', ')" will work. It seems the majority of my problems are due to thinking in C,C++ or Java where one can simply declare a variable and then work with it. I haven't figured out how to do that in DTML. External methods calling ZSQl methods

I've read (and am following) the HOW-To, but I seem to be missing something. I have a ZSQL method called GatCat which reads: SELECT * FROM Categories WHERE <dtml-sqltest CatID type=int> My external method reads (in part): def CategoryPath (self, baseURL, catID): div = " / " catPath = "" while (catID != 0): results=self.GetCat (CatID=int(catID)) ...lotsa boring logic in here... return catPath When I attempt to call this external method from a DTML method as so: <dtml-var "CategoryPath('http://www.kanga.nu/', 1)"> I get the following error: The database connection Library_database_connection cannot be found. GetCat works fine when tested by itself as well as when called from DTML methods by anonymous users (ie the permissions seem fine). Using CC with MailHost

I am running Zope 2.12 on a RH6.1 Linux box. Using the mailhost object connecting to the sendmail port on the localhost. I can send mail just fine using the To: field. My problem is that if include a Cc: field directly below it, the message doesn't get sent to the cc address. I can receive it at the To address and the CC field is displayed properly. If I can't get the CC function working, I'll have to use multiple loops of the same <dtml-sendmail code>. Has anyone using the setup I described above gotten the CC to work? Using Links within Zope

Thanks for the help with images. I've just completed a 6 pg. how-to on it, which will be up for public consumption as soon as I get approval from ZDP. My next question is: Linking in Zope - is there anything special (yet basic enough) that can be done besides a "<a href="some.object">click here</a>" type of link? Any DTML-special stuff? Especially useful would be implementing a navigation bar that trails behind each level deep into the heirarchy you go. How to generate the links, etc. and what DTML would need to be used. Ideas? Pour 'em out, I'm willing to write as much as I learn. Thanks in advance, Eron
