There's a brand new tutorial at: http://dev.zope.org/Wikis/DevSite/Projects/ZPT/SimpleTutorial It introduces Zope Page Templates without assuming any familiarity with them, or with DTML or Python. Three questions: No response in Mozilla, VersionLockErrors, and transactions in Postgres with ZPoPyDA

Hi all, Right now I'm running Zope in single-threaded mode, just to forstall any questions of that nature. Also: Zope 2.3.3 binary on RedHat 6.2, PostgreSQL 7.1, PoPy 2.0.2, ZPoPyDA 1.2, exUserFolder 0.5.0 Question 1: There is something very odd with Postgres and transactions. I will very often find a postgres process in the list with "idle in transaction". Typically when that happens, I can check the logs and discover that a commit has not been performed, and database information will not be written. One time while the site was idle, I couldn't add an index without shutting the Zope process down as it had a transaction open. When this happens, I can sometimes run a ZSQL method with only the word "commit;" in it to unstick everything. Question 2: Whenever I use the version feature, working in a version will eventually cause my users to get a VersionLockError just viewing the site. I can hit a link, Mozilla will sit there churning forever, and while Mozilla is churning I can go into Netscape and pick the same link, getting the page immediately. Hi, am trying to I have a matrix of checkboxes in a form, something like this : rows col1 col2 col3 col4 row1 cb cb cb cb row2 cb cb cb cb row3 cb cb cb cb where "cb" is a checkbox the row and colum names are generated at runtime from some sql-methods the code for the form is something like this : <dtml-in rowsnamesmethod> <tr> <td><dtml-var rowname></td> <dtml-in columnsnamesMethod> <td align="center"> <input type="checkbox" name="<dtml-var rowname>" Value="<dtml-var columnname>"> </td> </dtml-in> so the question is : how can I reference the values of my checboxes in the result method ? if i write <dtml-in rowsnamesmethod> <dtml-var rowname> </dtml-in> it gives me the row names, but I need the values of a checbox named that way, i try <dtml-in rowsnamesmethod> <dtml-var <dtml-var <rowname>> </dtml-in> but that's a sintax error, what should i do ? Installation Product

Hello, We work actually on the platform Windows. We want to download a product which called 'MySQL Database Interface'. We download the product and we record on the hard disk on C:/Zope/lib/python/products. The problem is, when we restart the server Zope, the product doesn't appear on the list of Products. We thinks there are variables to change on the setup file like include_dirs = ['/usr/include/mysql'] library_dirs = ['/usr/lib/mysql'] but we don't know what directories will put. Could you help us ? I was just working on a similar problem. I'm not sure if this is the right way to do it, but if I'm wrong, somebody will correct me. Try this: <dtml-in rowsnamesmethod> <dtml-var expr="_.getitem(rowname,1)"> </dtml-in> My understanding is that the '1' tells it to render the variable. If you put in a '0' instead, it just displays it - probably like what you're getting now. How to return different authentication realms for different paths ?

How should I proceed If I need to return different authentication realms for different branches of Zope tree ? Does any of urm many different User Folder products provide this facility ? Or if I need to dig into deeper guts of Zope, where should I start ? --------------- Hannu

Subclass and Image

Ok guys & gals, Totally stupid question but probably easy to answer if you've done it before!!! I have a zclass created, for which I chose OFSImage when I created it. I then added a couple of properties and now would like to get the image out. When I create a class instance I can get the properties out no problem, but cannot anywhere find out how to get the image to display on my web page... Any help would be much appreciated... How to add valuables into Property sheets from a form?

Hello I�m new for Zope, I really need some help here please. Background: I have a services form, when someone submit this form all the valuables should save in to 5 different property sheets.(is that possible?) Anyways, I got all 5-property sheets created and when I go under the folder I can see these 5 property sheets inside the folder and I can manually click then and add the value into the properties. But I want have a nice web interface (a form) for sales or customer to look and full in the information, instead to ask them manually to add the valuables into property sheets. (Do I make sense so far?) Anyways, I created the form with all the boxes for them to full out. Here comes my problem. I can�t get those valuables to store into property sheets. Seems those valuables never been read by Zclass (or I should say constructor???)
