filling in text fields?

Are there any mechanisms to indicate that the text box for a 'text' property should be "filled"? Really, there should be another variation of 'string', 'text', and 'lines', perhaps called 'filled', for paragraph-like text you want to display as a property but filled to the size of the text box rather than including newlines in the text.

Templates

Hi, I'm trying to figure a way to avoid splitting "master" templates in two files. F.ex the standard_html_header and footer is splitted in two parts, making it "a little" more difficult to manage. I'd like a solution (probably a class) where I can create a new document, and then base the new document on a single template (like to have a combo box in the document properties where I can select the template). So instead of referring to the template in DTML or TAL for every document, I just change it with the document property. Is this possible (sure :-) ? But if it's not to much to ask for - how (any guidelines appreciated) ? Regards

Problems with the encryption

Hi, i want to encrypt a string with an algorithm, like DES for example. I've tried many examples, published in Internet, but i get always the same error: Error Type: ImportError Error Value: import of "des" is unauthorized I don't know why i can't import "des", in spite of i have the Manager role. Can anyone help me, please? Bye.

Display domain name in browser

My website (http://www.dksy.net) is hosted at a site to which I do not have access except to redirect to a Redhat 7 server in my office : <META HTTP-EQUIV="refresh" CONTENT="0; URL=http://00-20-78-D5-A9-C8.bconnected.net:8080/dksy-portal"> When (http://www.dksy.net) is entered in a browser, (http://00-20-78-d5-a9-c8.bconnected.net:8080/dksy-portal) is displayed. Is it possible to maintain the original domain in a browser or would this confuse the browser? Is it possible to configure Zope alone to display the domain name? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated David

Testing multiple values for existance

Hi! I can do <dtml-if foo> to test if foo is known at all. Why can't I do <dtml-if "foo or bar"> to test if either foo or bar are known? I get a "Name Error" saying something like "global name 'foo' is not defined" if I do this (and foo is actually undefined). Is there a different syntax for this? Zlogger probs

I'm running zope as user 'zope' which is basically the same as 'nobody' and get this exception when trying to use the logger: 2001-09-19T18:12:29 PANIC(300) z2 Startup exception Traceback (innermost last): File /usr/local/zope/Zope-2.3.3/z2.py, line 563, in ? File /usr/local/zope/Zope-2.3.3/ZServer/DebugLogger.py, line 114, in __init__ IOError: [Errno 6] No such device or address: '/dev/log' Any ideas? Is it a permission problem? I can see /dev/log if I 'ls' it.

Q: Dynamic add/edit form for a product

Is there any way to create an add (or edit) form for a product on the fly? this is what I'm trying to do: I have a product from which I'm going to derive many other products, and I'd like to have some variable (say _data) inside this class that specifies some parameters (like a few files) that have to be managed via the usual add and edit interfaces. In the derived products I could just specify some custom value for this variable, and the forms would be automatically generated. Any ideas on how to do this? I am trying to move all logic from DTML (not that I get it yet. :) I am now trying to generate the object that precedes the current object(zClass) in a folder. called by ...<a href"<dtml-var getPrevious>"> Previous </a> What am I doing wrong here?...I realize I am missing some fundamentals. # getPrevious Script (Python) # # determine the position of the current object y=0 for o in context.objectIds(): y=y+1 if sequence-item currentPosition=y ## loop to the previousItem and get ID for o in context.objectIds(): if sequence-item == currentPosition-1 previousObject=sequence-item.id return previousObject This is the DTML that doesnt quite work, that I am replacing. <dtml-in "objectIds()" start=qs size=1 orphan=0> <dtml-var sequence-item> <a href="&dtml-URL;?qs=<dtml-var "_.int(_['sequence-index'])+1">">Next</a> </dtml-in> ...likewise I will create a getNext. Huh? You're saying that merely viewing a PDF doc in Acrobat reader can cause Acrobat reader to submit an HTTP POST to a server? Oh well. I need an alternate PDF viewer anyway.
