Hi, I have the following command: context.mail_host.send(messageText=msg, mto=e, mfrom='a(a)abc.com', subject=sub,encode='base64') Now my msg is msg = 'aaaaabbbbbbccccc' If I do the following: msg = 'this is from abc\n\n' + msg The email sent has the chartacters '\' 'n' as is> I just cant seem to introduce a carraige returns in the body of the message. I tried \r and still the same Why?? OT: Apache VirtualHost and subdomains

Hi, I have a problem. I have several domains on my server, using virtual-host from apache 2.0., some even on different ports, because I am running two different zopes on one server. But I am unable to add a subdomain. I have www.buergerportal.de which is zope on http://213.133.101.209/Buergerporal and want to have solinger.buergerportal.de which is zope on http://213.133.101.209/Solingen Buergerportal an Solingen are two different CMF-Sites. How do I do this with the virtual-host rules? ServerName solinger.buergerportal.de or ServerAlias solinger.buergerportal.de does not work. Any hints? Hello Zopesters: I am putting together a comprehensive list of all the 'Zope Shops' around the world. Simply put, if you consider yourself a 'Zope Shop' or a 'Zope Shoppe,' then you are. >From the Tornado Class Zope Corp. to the Pee Wee Class Joel Burton & Associates*, I am trying to collect this list, which I will compend and share. So, I am not elitist. If you do any work with Zope, or are vectoring that way, then please, send me a note. RESPONSE.redirect?

I have a report from which you can choose to edit or delete. When someone chooses to edit a record, I would like to be able to set a cookie from the edit_processor and redirect them back to the report on the same page they started ie: "reportPage_html?query_start=3", and if the cookie is present display a message that the changes have been saved. If I do <dtml-call "RESPONSE.redirect('reportPage_html')"> it returns them to the first page of queries. If I do <dtml-call "RESPONSE.redirect('javascript:history.back()')"> It returns them to the corect page, but the cookie is not read. Does anyone have any ideas how this could be accomplished? Efficient Processing Of Large ZCatalog Queries

Hello, I have a zope setup that does a ZCatalog Query, grabs each item (i.e., it does not use the query-return objects), and then does some processing on each returned object. In pseudocode, whenever I do a ZCatalog Query, I do the following: return [myFunction(getObject(x)) for x in catalog.search(myquery)] The problem is that some of the query response will be quite large -- up to 10,000 objects returned. Doing a dtml-in over a result set this size does not seem to be feasible -- the browser times out, for one thing. I have avoided batch processing so far, because I understand (perhaps incorrectly) that batch-processing delays the evaluation of later batch results until the batch is viewed. As I am running a script on the results, often via a cron job, I want all of the objects to be processed. If this understanding is incorrect, please let me know. So my questions are as follows: 1. Is my understanding about batch processing correct or incorrect? Can I have the browser only display the first hundred responses, but have all 5-10,000 results processed? 2. Is there a way to stream responses as they come? More specifically, would it perhaps be feasible to grab the result set and process them one at a time, displaying partial results? I tried using REQUEST.RESPONSE.write, but the results all seemed to come out at the same time anyway. 3. Finally, what factors influence the speed of a ZCatalog query? Is it the total number of indexed objects? Is it constant? Currently I do one query and then process the results. If I reworked this so that behind the scenes it was doing n queries, I would obviously be slowing myself down, but by how much? I have created a system for managing data, but I seem to be running into some difficulty now that I have put in the data. For smaller numbers (up to 5000 main records), Zope seems to work fine, but I'm having trouble scaling up. Can anyone help? I'm happy to answer any questions to illuminate the problem more clearly. Dreamweaver 4 can't create certain files

Hi everyone, I have a colleague who is attempting to create a Web site in Dreamweaver 4 (Win XP) and upload it to Zope. I am not a Dreamweaver guru. I created a folder for him and gave him 'Manager' rights to it. He is able to connect to Zope via ftp, but he can't upload any files ending in .htm to Zope. Strangely, he can upload .jpg files just fine. Zope and Lotus Notes questions

Hi, I've been looking for information regarding Lotus Notes and Zope. I've found too little in the zope web site (one testimonial saying that Notes sucks but no explanation and the Beehive conversion from Notes to Zope, but no details). I tried searching on Yahoo groups simply by looking by Lotus but, weird, I get several messages but they don't contain the lotus word!! I'm not familiar with neither (I've seen a demo on Notes Designer and I've done the zope tutorial) and probably I'll have to go to Lotus Notes for policy reasons, unless I find examples of what can I do with Zope but not with Lotus Notes/Domino. I'm also looking for the possibility to connect to Lotus Notes databases (import/export). Finally, Lotus Designer provides a Visual development environment. From what I've read, Zope seems to be at disadvantage here, ie, to create a database oriented application I've to code DTML/ZPT by hand. I understand I can use an HTML designer and then hand-code the ZPT part. Something better than this, or have I overlooked something. Anything RAD-like for zope? Thanks, Fernando Martins
