Identifying a page in DTML

<newbie alert> I'd like to include some text in my standard_html_header file for certain pages, but not for others. I'm not sure how to construct the test for the page, though. If I use: <dtml-if expr="id='myPage'"> that fails because 'id' is not a string. Zope documentation

In reading the Zope Book - which, overall, I find a first-rate piece of documentation - I have noticed several typographical errors. Assuming the producers of such a fine piece of work as is Zope will want their documentation to be equally stellar, I am wondering how I might convey note of these mistakes to someone who could correct them. Does anybody know anything about how this is done?

Checkboxes/SQL data type problem

Hi, Please excuse a dumb newbie question. I've been trawling mailing list archives and documentation for clues and am getting nowhere. So far I've done most of what I need to do with DTML and relying on Znolk for working out basic code for handling external databases, so I'm probably missing something really obvious here. I'm using Zope 2.4.3 on NT4 connecting to Access databases via ZODBC DA. I'm having trouble updating a set of records in an external DB, selecting the records using checkboxes on a form. Code is below. The form appears to be producing the expected list of integers which are the record ids which need updating: if I get the results page to just display action_list it comes out as [15, 18] etc. ActionUpdateMethod works fine when I test it with a single record number. The results page should iterate over the list of record ids and update each record in turn. What actually happens is I get an error message: Error Type: sql.error Error Value: ('22005', -3030, '[Microsoft][ODBC Microsoft Access Driver] Data type mismatch in criteria expression.') Which looks like it isn't an integer which is getting passed via the SQL. Yet as far as I can see, the list is a list of integers, the ZSQL argument tells it it's an integer and the sqlvar tag tells it it's an integer. What am I doing wrong? Is it posible to delete the Data.fs.old?

I'm wondering about this because I have a Data.fs file which its size is aprox 1Gb and it'll become bigger. On the other hand, the size of Data.fs.old is almost the same. So, I have two files that have the same contents with the same sizes. I think that's a waste of space. Is there any consequence in erasing this file? Thanks in advanced, Josef.

Zope/system/Web file relations

I'm gradually becoming familiar with Zope and increasingly astounded. It's capabilities are breathtaking! One important thing I do not yet understand is the relation of Zope's internal folder and file structure to that of the system on which it resides and to Web URLs. For example, to what does http://localhost:8080/ correspond on the hard drive? \Zope\bin? Perhaps related to this is the question of how I get outside the Zope management interface - i.e., if I have a small application built, how do I access it directly from a blank browser, rather than through the management interface? If this is anywhere covered in the documentation (which I am working on but have not yet completed), I would be quite satisfied with a pointer to where it is explained. Thank you.

rewriter product

Hi, I would like to use this product in my site but I cannot seem to get it to work: it is not clear to me the difference between the ' rewriter ' the ' rewriter folder' and the 'rewriter item' and when I type in a URL to test redirection I just get the default Zope index_html page.
