UnpickleableError

Hello, I try to write a Zope-Product and I always get following Error: Error Type: UnpickleableError Error Value: Cannot pickle objects The problem is the following line in the __init__ method of the class: self.menuHeader = HTML('<table>',globals()) I thought it should be possible as the class HTML inherits from Persistent or is it impossible to include objects in the first place. space in product name

Is it allowed to have a space in a product name ? I had a problem with a Zclass definition in a product. When I copied the Zclass to a product with a new name without a space, the problem went away. Brecht -- Brecht Samyn Systeemgroep KULAK

The error message in the subject appears in Zope stupid_log_file after upgrade from Zope 2.4.4 to Zope 2.5.1. This is the full text of the error message: 2002-06-23T12:09:55 ERROR(200) KeywordIndex unindex_object could not remove documentId -928076309 from index keywords. This should not happen. Traceback (innermost last): File /usr/local/Zope-orl-new/lib/python/Products/PluginIndexes/common/UnIndex.py, line 168, in removeForwardIndexEntry (Object: keywords) KeyError: -928076309 Is this happening because the catalogs were exported from Zope 2.4.4 and imported to Zope 2.5.1 (along with all other objects)? -- Milos Prudek

See the documentation that came with your router. I can try DMZ. Thanks. I would like a better understanding of why even though I've assiend 8080 to zope I don't see zope from the outside at all. It should just be a simple web port, so I don't get it. So the main problem right now is that I don't see zope at all. I've assigned the port 8080 in the router, and can see it behind the firewall when I use a different machine, but can't access zope from outside. thanks, Robert

Publishing pure HTML

I have a fairly large site with lots of images ( >10,000) that I want to publish in a CMF/Plone environement. It's a requirement that the HTML stuff be available in a file system and incrementally mutable. Moreover, the link structure should not be changed so the site can be run standalone as well as integrated into a Zope wrapper. Finally, parts of the the HTML site need to be renderable inside Zope objects. Has anyone put together a product which manages publishing of static HTML objects that live in the external file system? The ExternalFile product does some of what I want, but it really just proxies the external files in the ZODB and makes them into DTML documents or images. What I need is something that, for a distinguished class of URLs, simply publishes directly out of the file system (a la Apache). Of course I could use an Apache/ZServer combination, I suppose, but I suspect it's got lots of hidden gotchas. -dra

If you are using a linksys router you may want to look at the DMZ option. This totally exposes the server but it does not limit you to just 10 ports. See the documentation that came with your router. Hi, Could anyone point me to some resources for running zope behind a router (e.g., a linksys router)? My goal: isolate the (linux) server in my office to just server tasks (apache, zope, slashcode) and let another (windows) machine share the single ethernet connection in the office (no chance of getting another ethernet connection). I need to be able to connect another machine because someone else will be sharing my office, and I don't want that person inadvertantly messing up my server (and because the other person has meager skills and won't transition to linux easily even if he were allowed to use the server).
