User login with html forms

Hi! Is there a way to authenticate users using html forms and scripts instead of HTTP? I need that, because I want an integrated login in my homepage instead of the browser's authentication dialog before a protected page is requested. Any hints? thx AND -- I doubt, therefore I might be.

Advice on small zope application

Hi, I need some advice on the easiest way to realize a small zope application. The application should allow users to upload (mainly Visio-drawings) to the Zope server and manage them. Other users should only be able to download the files. Requirements: - upload, update (i.e upload a replacement for a file) and deletion of files should be possible - files should be saved in the filessystem, not in the Zope DB - it should be possible to structure the files in a tree - the owner should be able to add comments to the file Nice to have: - only the owner should be able to update/delete a file Are there any Zope products that fulfill this requirements? Random images--but with a caveat

I'm trying to do random image generation on our site, and I've found lots of messages that suggest using whrandom inside a DTML tag like so: <dtml-var expr="_.whrandom.choice(objectValues('Image'))"> Or code to that effect... But here's my catch: I need to check the image that is returned randomly for a Cutline property. If the property is not there, I need to kick that image out and randomly grab another that does have a Cutline. I'm thinking a Python Script would be better suited for this, but I can't seem to get the syntax to work out the way it should. Any ideas? Thanks! - Chris -- Cmuldrow @ fredericksburg.com

redirect to a renamed folder

Now I'm pretty sure this is some sort of faq, but I'm really having trouble doing what I thought would be simple. The Problem: I have a site which needs to have one of its subfolders renamed from (say) 'foo' to 'bar'. All subfolders within 'foo' (now 'bar') are the same. No problem so far, but people will have the old url's bookmarked, so I want to redirect people requesting for example: /site/foo/blacksheep to /site/bar/blacksheep. What I've Tried: I figured I'd user standard_error_message to catch 'NotFound' errors, and perform a redirect. This is proving more difficult than I'd anticipated. Here is what I came up with: <dtml-if "error_type"> <dtml-if "error_type == 'NotFound'"> <dtml-let new_path="_.string.join(_.string.split(error_value, '/')[2:], '/')"> <dtml-call "RESPONSE.redirect('http://192.168.2.2:9980/test/'+new_path, status=301, lock=1)"> </dtml-let> </dtml-if> <dtml-else> missed it </dtml-if> The problem is, this seems to redirect to something looking like http://192.168.2.2:9980/test/H2> (including the >). I guess 'error_value' is not the variable I want. I thought maybe I would want TraversalRequestNameStack, but that doesn't appear right either. Really, I want a list of url segments so I can drop in my new folder name in place of the old one, rebuild the url then redirect, but I'm not sure how to do that. Any ideas? cheers tim ps Another way I thought of was to maintain an empty folder named 'foo' with an accessrule python script in it that catches the traverse_subpath and does a redirect, but I'm not sure if that should even work in theory. I haven't used accessrules before, and I had trouble getting things to work. From the archives, I found that I can't use RESPONSE.redirect() from an accessrule, but have to use raise. However, I couldn't get this to work either.

call multiple urls from python script

I need to call multiple urls from a python script that gets input from a form. The script builds several URLs that look like: (http://some.paging.site&pagernumber=23423424&sender=someone&message=this+sc…) And I want to send it as a URL. It works from any browser but I want to do it from a python script. I can't use response.redirect because there are multiple pager numbers for each script. Is there some python method (not external method if at all possible) that's available or some trick that I can use to send out multiple http requests from a script? Thanks, Joshua p.s. foxpro

Does anyone know how to connect a foxpro database to the web using Linux, Zope and Postgresql? Right now, we're using dbf2pg to convert the data 5 times a day from foxpro to postgres, but this is just a stop gap solution. The data is not updated, but the tables are 50M each and running the conversion takes more than an hour. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance, Liz

Using superclasses from new ZClass

Hi I want to make a i18n-aware ZClass for a product catalogue. I am learning to use Localizer for the i18n. In the tutorial, it explains how to make external products that use the Localizer classes (LocalPropertyManager in particular). Is it possible to do the same using ZClasses? I have made a new ZClass and have used LocalPropoertyManager as a superclass, but I don't know how to use its methods, etc. Felix.
