Hi Zope-wizards, As you can see in my subject: I'm getting quite frustrated by some stupid error when I'm trying to login to my Zope server. (Yep, I'm a newbie...) Situation I'm going to create a website to gather funds for a hospital in Ghana (St. John of God Hospital in Duayaw Nkwanta). To get an idea about the situation: http://www.zwo.nhl.nl/hbov/buitenlandstage/ghana.html (Dutch & English). Website I want to do this with Zope & Python. I want people to be able to do online donations, retrieve information about the project, maybe send a mailinglist to keep them up to date and there are many more plans. So: I've got a lot to learn... Learn & develop @ work & @ home In order to learn as quickly as possible I tried to install Zope at work and at home (of course during my break ;-) ). At work (Win2000 Prof.), everything functions OK. I've done the tutorial and I'm now working myself through the ZopeBook. So far so good, but... My problem At home I've installed Zope (2.5.1) on my computer (Win98). No errors occured during installation. So, just like at work I tried to login to Zope for the first time, but... When I start the START.BAT, my computer starts a dial-in to my internetprovider! It seems this occurs when START.BAT is trying to retrieve my hostname. When START.BAT is finished, I type in... * http://127.0.0.1:8080/manage (START.BAT comes up with 127.0.0.1 as localhost and 8080 as port) * http://popeye:8080/manage or http://popeye:8021/manage (popeye is the computername in my Win98 network-settings and START.BAT comes up with popeye as localhost for port 8021) * http://localhost:8080/manage (should always work, right? Not!) * http://stjohnhospital:8080/manage (stjohnhospital is the superuser I installed Zope with) ... but none of them works!!! All that happens is that my browser (MsIE) when I'm offline shows me that the page cannot be found and when I'm online it shows me either "server error" or "page not found". >:-(( NB: It doesn't matter wether I login to my internprovider or not. I'm quite sure it's nonesense to be online in order to login to a local Zope-server, but hey, I've tried everything possible (as far as I know). I also tried to un- and reinstall Zope, but that didn't work either. :-( So please, help me out here!!! (In a short while I've got some days off and I want to do some work for the website at home.) Product Creation: Adding Folder

I am attempting to create a ZClass for a new product, which, when created on the site will automatically add a visible folder. I have attempted to use a folder directly within the ZClass, but for some reason it causes security problems. I know there is a way to do this, but I am not sure how to. If you have any ideas, please let me know. - Alex

sorting a table

I am looking for a sorting mechanism similar to that in the ZMI, where I can click on the header "ID" to let the objects be sorted by the id. This I would like to implement in a HTML table, which is laid out like this: id title date I would like to make the headers appear as links, which reloads the current url with something like this: http://localhost:8080/current_page?sorttype=title How do I have to format the dtml-in tag to use this url for sorting? I already tried this: dtml-in blabla .. sort=&dtml-sorttype; without success.

I know I could do a len() of the query, but that seems like a bad idea because the database would essentially get queried twice - once to get the len, and once to create the <dtml-in> list. Right? Am I missing something? Of course I am. Any help would be much appreciated. Accessing openLDAP Server from Python Script inside a Zope CMF.

Hi all, I am trying to access openLDAP server from a python script inside CMF site of Zope. I have python-ldap module installed on a linux machine. My final intention is to Add an LDAP entry in to LDAP server. Following code i have written in a python script just to get started by connecting to LDAP server and accessing the existing contents. My approach to add an entry from python script is correct or its bound to fail? Many very advanced users was help me in last weeks, so let take a look to archive with my name and look to threads. There is maybe a future product for mid-sized collaborative webs (hundreds of pages). So I have files in folders as basic structure of the web. Each menu item is separate folder. If in folder is index.htm, then is fully rendered alone without footer and header. On opposite case is files rendered as segments, regardless if it is HTML formatted (without <html><head>etc tags) or STX (structured text) document. Segments are sorted via his ID and should be temporary hidden via property HIDE. Note that if you want add picture to STX segment, use segment_name.gif as name of picture, picture then will be displayed right from text of current segment. Print format was obtain via www.site.com/path/document/print I hope that these info will be very usefull not only for you and will save many hours. I am very happy, that WORKS! Best regards J. Hi, We're currently evaluating time-recording systems, and I wonder if there are any solutions available based on Zope and some database-backend (I should wonder if not...). Maybe someone can give me a hint? cheers, stephan

Import/Export Problem with Tracker

I want to export a tracker product from one Zope to another. (2.4 to 2.5) Exporting works, but i have got a problem importing the tracker to the new Zope. Always when I try to import my file(Tracker.zexp). I get the following error-message: Zope Error Zope has encountered an error while publishing this resource. Error Type: ImportError Error Value: No module named Splitter Does somebody know how to get the thing to work ?
