Thanks for the detailed response, Jaroslav. The reason I wanted to use the HTMLDocument product is because it meshes so nicely with the ieeditor visual editor (http://vsbabu.org/webdev/zopedev/ieeditor.html - thanks, Satheesh) and *then* wraps the header and footer around the document. Try ieeditor with a DTML document and it gets ugly, because DTML wants the header referenced in the code, which makes problems for the visual editor. Anyway - I fixed the problem. The way my header code used to build nav links for the current folder was by looping through context.objectItems which failed in the context of HTMLDocument. Now I simply loop through context.REQUEST.PARENTS[0].objectItems which works. What I end up with is a really great way for the technically- challenged to contribute to our church Web site using the visual HTML tools built right into IE5.x. Thanks again for the response. I'm new to Zope/Python, and I'm feeling generally confused these days, so it's nice to get pointers when the docs fall short. :-) Regards, -Mike Hicks

OT: mySQL

Hi all, First an apology as this might be slightly Off Topic, however I need the experience of ZOPE users with mySQL. I'm new to zope and have been playing with Gadfly, zope page templates etc and am interested in getting to grips with zope and mySQL. Can anyone recommend one or more online tutorials which cover a)mySQL install, b)zope connections for mySQL. I specify online because I've spent too much on zope books this month already!... and the books I have at the moment assume you have mySQL installed, or only talk about SQL methods in the context of Gadfly. I suppose what I'm looking for is an "I've done this already and this is how you do it" guide to getting mySQL set up so ZOPE can use it. Tall order? FYI I'm running zope on suse linux 8.0 (desktop, not a server edition: so mySQL isn't included), if that helps. Regards, and thanks in advance for any suggestions, Stu

Try to pull out HTML document and save your HTML files as DTML DOcument. Header will be composed with header from standard_html_header. But I notice that there seem to be some acquisition problems with the header when it's auto-added to an HTMLDocument. I'm using a simple python script to return all files and folders in the current folder as links for my left hand nav, and this script is referenced in the standard header making for a nice auto navigation feature. Works fine when the header is used in a DTMLDocument, but nothing is returned from that script when the header is auto-wrapped around HTMLDocuments. Has anyone seen this before?

getting contents of file into a variable

How can I do this? acl and squishdot

I added a squishdot at the following location /sites/foo where foo is the folder with the squishdot. I have one user defined in the root acl, named administrator and set to manager. I have no problem accessing any folder other than foo, however if I try to view that folder, it will not accept my password, and after three attempts tells me that I am not allowed to access leftbox_items in this context. There is no acl_users in the foo folder, although I did briefly add one, and then delete it. All security attributes are set to inherit. Any ideas?

KeyError; Value: 6; zwiki recent;

Hi all, I got this error when clicking on the Recent changes link in my Zwiki. What could it mean? I've been looking for a general error value list in the docs, but nothing found . Do you know a basic error value reference? I suppose it is because I just installed the ExternalEditor product http://www.zope.org/Members/Caseman/ExternalEditor and edited a few files with vim and now the entering the wikipage names in to the recent changes list doesn't work as it should...
