Dear all, example I have a directory structure like this: zoo -- |-- birds | |-- mamals |-- reptiles Each subfolder (birds, mamals, reptiles) has a DTML Method called 'description' which contains a short description of each group of animal. LocalFS error reading directories with permissions restrictions

Hi all, I'm using LocalFS and it works fine except when a folder in the local file system has permissions restricted. I think it only lets me see a folder if everyone has access to it. I am using jcNTUserFolder and ImportNTGroups, so the users and roles for Zope are the same as those for the NT domain. So I'd like to make some changes in the LocalFS product source code so that it allows seeing the files the logged in user can see. I think I have found a way to get this done (see 'impersonation' in aspn.activestate.com) but I'd like to know WHERE do I have to make the changes. I've been looking all through the LocalFS sources, but I haven't found any lines that read a file from the hard disk. Can anyone tell me where this is done? Is it in the File object of the Image.py file? Thanks in advance, Igor Leturia

Re-Installing Zope

Hi all, My machine configuration is Mandrake Linux-8.0 ,Postgresql-7.2 I had installed Zope-2.5.1 on my machine and was doing testing when apparently the server crashed.When i try to start Zope now I get an error message. : 2003-02-18T04:32:13 PANIC(300) z2 Startup exception Traceback (innermost last): File /Users/zope/Zope-2.5.1/z2.py, line 497, in ? NameError: name 'Role' is not defined How do u suggest I go about resolving this problem?It looks like Zope is not able to find its startup files. Is there some error here.Could you please help me in resolving this issue. If I wanted to reinstall zope without losing the work that has been done so far how would u suggest I go about it. Please advice.I know that the Data.fs file contains all the data .Is it enough that I copy the Data.fs file into a separate location and re-install Zope and then replace the Data.fs file in Zope-2.5.1 . Oops - the code should have read newfolder._addRole('Reviewer') I changed the above to ...manage_addRole(... otherwise Zope was not allowing me to save the code (or perhaps that was my browser making it seem that way). And it's the above line that generated the error message - Line 20: "_addRole" is an invalid attribute name because it starts with "_". Sorry about the confusion this may have caused. I'm still looking for a solution, but I can't figure it out. The source code indicates I ought to be able to use "_addRole". Thanks again. attribute names in a table in Zope.Is Zope case sensitve.

Hi, I am using zope and oracle 9i.I have noticed a strange thing when i create table using SQL in oracle 9i, the names of the attributes (columns) are in upper case.Is there any particular reason why that is the case.is zope case sensitive. If yes is there a fix for it? S.

passing browser Id value #2

Hi to all, this follows my previous having subject "passing browser Id value" to further explain what I'm looking for. I want to embed the browserId value in every link/button/clickable-item of the pages in my site as the very last action before sending the pages back to the client; put another way I want to parse the HTML code of the page that Zope has built in response to the current HTTP request, embed into the 'href' and 'form' tags some identifier of mine and send the modified page back to the client. The point is that the parsing and embedding are to be performed 'on exit' -so to say-, i.e. when Zope has already processed the web request and built an HTML page to be sent back. ------ To Dieter Maurer: Hi Dieter, does your extension to VHM meet these requirements? I'm afraid VHM is targeted to solving the problem of URL rewriting BEFORE letting Zope handle (publish) it, while I need some sort of parsing/rewriting 'on exit'. Changing the password of an unauthenticated user

Does anyone know if it is possible to change the password of an anonymous user(i.e. a user that hasn't authenticated)? Any help would be greatly appreciated. SOLVED Local FS files "not found"

All other products seem to run okay owned as root:admin, but the LocalFS folder (in lib/python/products) must be accessible to "nobody" which is the user Zope is running under. zpt for management views?

Relative URL property?

I know there must be a simple answer to this question, but I have thus far been unable to find it. How do I obtain the relative URL of each object in the list of search results? For example, if I have an page template named "foo.html" in folder "/spam/eggs/" listed as a search result, how do I obtain "/spam/eggs/foo.html"? There does not seem to be a relative_url property, similar to absolute_url but without the "http://servername.xyz" prefix. What I need to return is the relative URL for each search result, since the absolute_url property adds a port 8080 (e.g. http://servername.xyz:8080/spam/eggs/foo.html) assuming Zope is running on port 8080. I'm aware of "request/URLPATH0", but this does not work for the list of search results returned by a ZCatalog search interface.
