Hi list. I want to find some step by step reference about how to write a new product. I have found some how-tos, but I still feel completely lost. Everywhere I look, I see Zope specific function calls. Does any document exist containing product-API specific stuff that could aid a Zope little-above-newbie level developer? I assume that this should be in the services control panel, but this is just a wild guess. If this is the case, just right-click and select stop, like any other NT service. newbie q: how to block IP

Z2.log and authenticated users

Hi, is it possible to force zope to write the authenticated users in the Z2.log? The only two users that I see in this file are "Anonymous" and "admin". The later only appears if it logs through the manage interface. The reason of doing this is that I would like to process my log file with a log analyzer like webalizer in order to see which user has more accesses. Thanks in advanced, Josef.

CMFBackTalk

In the Plone documentation it is stated that the CMFBackTalk product is used to build the documentation. I would like to use this product in my Plone site to enable the creation of on-line manuals. Does anyone know where I can get this product from? From the Plone docs under Appendix D: "The Plone book uses CMFBackTalk, based on Backtalk, orignally developed by Chris McDonough. CMFBackTalk is developed by Kapil Thangavelu with some minor hinderances from Andy McKay." Thanks in advance.

Greetings Zope Mentors... I am of a grave realization that perhaps I am once again banging my head on a brick wall. I am the one, some may remember, that is using PostgreSQL for data collection and writing dtml forms for administration of articles that can be pulled from one data source for multiple locations in my website. My last problem was in reference of pulling a checkbox value into a dtml page. Now, with all of that working, my problem is writing back to the table with the updated information on an article. Below is my list of trial and errors: * I have verified that up to the dtml method of collecting the proper information. * I have tried, in my dtml method of posting to the database, all different ways of collecting the data to be written. (this is where my data fails to post to the tables) Because in my reading of other emails that are posting to Zope, as much info as possible is what is requested, so here are 2 dtml methods where I am seeing the failures - no error pages are displayed, it just tells me it was not successful writing. 1st method, where all changed information to the article is gathered. I just upgraded my Zope from 2.5.1 to 2.6.0 and started receiving this error message from some dtml-sendmail code: Error Type: TypeError Error Value: an integer is required No traceback is given. I used to have the same error message with 2.6.0. I figured out that it was because a bug in the DateTime module. Then I applied a patch (http://www.zope.org/Members/regebro/datetime_260_fix) However, I upgraded to 2.6.1, which doesn't have that problem. Regards, Josef
