slow authentication popup in 2.5.0?

Hello, Before moving my Zope installation to 2.5.0 i tested it on my own machine. It works fine, only the authentication popup shows after a long time (20-25 seconds). The rest is working normal. Is this "slow authentication popup" normal behaviour in 2.5? my test machine is not a very good machine (w98), but with 2.4 there was no problem with this. custom error message

Hi, yes I read all docs on zope.org and I managed to make a custom error page. But it i only shown for some errors. If a parameter is wrong (string instead of int) and my DB method fails I will get my custom page (my user will and I get an email) but for 404 error it shows all the time the Zope builtin error page. BTW, for role 'Manager' I would like to get all debug Info. So I inserted <dtml-var REQUEST> <dtml-var error_tb> in my error page. REQUEST is printed as HTML and works fine, but the traceback is printed as text and the browser puts everything in one line. The opposite problem exists for the email to me, how to print REQUEST as text instead of HTML? Any ideas? Request for IPC10 and Zope 3 Sprint Pictures

Oh, ye mailing list gods, forgive the cross-post... I am making a photo album that will be featured in the next issue of the Zope news. I took several snap-shots at the Python conference and the Zope 3 Sprints, but I'm sure I missed a lot. If anyone cares to contribute some snapshots they took to the photo album, please send them to me! Just email the jpegs (any size, I will crop) to me and if possible a caption or a list of the people in the picture (I don't know everybody 8^). And please make sure the pictures are suitable for "family viewing" 8^). I will of course give each photographer credit in the album. Thanks a bunch! P.S. Error adding ZClass instance

Hi, i have a made a product with a zclass in zope 2.3.4, created with the zclass constructor methods. It worked fine. Now we've upgraded to zope 2.4.3. When i try to add an instance of this product i get the following error:  I have tried exporting and reimporting the product, but no change in behaviour. The weird thing is, that there are some subfolders where adding an instance of this product works without problems. I have checked the permissions and these subfolders have no special settings. If it had to do with permission I would expect any kind of unauthorized error or sth related instead of this name error problem, or am i wrong? I have noticed that other Zopers have experienced this behaviour too, did you solve the problem? Anybody else who knows why this is happening? hello, today I released the first public version of MailBoxer - a mailinglist-manager for ZOPE. http://www.zope.org/Members/mjablonski/MailBoxer/ - MailBoxer is a folderish object to manage and archive mailinglists. - It's easy to use and configure & can handle mime-encoded mails with attachments. - People can subscribe/unsubscribe to your list by sending a mail with a specified email-subject (not body) to the same address where the postings will go. - The mailinglist can be moderated and archived. - You can disable subscription and unsubscription. - By defining a spamlist some addresses can be disclosed from subscribing or mailing to your list. - All traffic to your mailinglist will be logged. Yes, I know it... sending thousands of mails through ZOPE can kill your server. But if you have a small site (only a few or more mails per day), managing your mailinglist with MailBoxer is more sysadmin/user-friendly than installing & playing with majordomo etc... because you can do it all with ZOPE! A ZSQL Method to do it like Google?

Dear Zopers I wonder if anyone has a ZSQL Method that will take a single text string, parse it for 'AND' and 'OR' then create the appropriate sql statement. A very simple example could be like this: user enters 'dog AND biscuit' SQL statement created is like: SELECT * FROM TABLE1 WHERE (FIELD1 LIKE '%dog%' AND FIELD1 LIKE '%biscuit%') OR (FIELD2 LIKE '%dog%' AND FIELD2 LIKE '%biscuit%') Yes, I know that I can do the above very simply, but how about when the string contains multiple sections with AND, OR, NEAR, NOT? I think its difficult, so I am hoping someone else has already done it! A quick search on the lists hasn't revealed anything obvious. Regards Neil
