ARGH! OpenBSD 1 : Zope 0
by Robin S. Socha 28 Dec '01

28 Dec '01

Ok, I admit defeat. I can't get this combo to run. I do want it to run, though, because I want to change http://my.gnus.org/ to Zope. Background: OpenBSD Zope package, OpenBSD 3.0, Apache with fastcgi (didn't work with ZServer alone, either). The Problem: CMF won't budge. I'm not submitting this to the CMF list because the problem in question would appear to me (I'm new to Zope after two years again) a Zope problem: While the CFM modules that come with the package just don't work, 1.1beta stops Zope's management interface from starting. Nothing in the logs, though, Zope just silently restarts. I'd like to submit a more meaningful problem report - where do I start debugging? Or is this a case for the CMF list? What other information do you need? Great, great program otherwise.

Yes. That was correct. I did encounter that scenario. I was able to fix it through your help. Ordered Folder not returning contents as ordered
by Chris Humphries 28 Dec '01

28 Dec '01

Hello all, Before i start hacking away at Ordered Folder code, can someone please shed light on why, this doesnt work: --snip-- # aq_parent is there for a reason, and it is reading in the # correct place, that has been verified by it's contents for dir in context.aq_parent.objectValues('Ordered Folder'): --snip-- The above works in the sence that it does return back every ordered folder in the context there, but they are not in order. the context of where it is reading the objectValues from is in an OrderedFolder. Ex: context_orderedFolder | --- orderedFolder1 | --- orderedFolder2 | --- orderedFolder3 The order that it returns them in is strange in that i dont see a pattern, at least an obvious one. They are not even returned in the order they were created, and I tested with using just a regular Folder and i get back the same exact results. Seems that OrderedFolder is not behaving as ordered. IMO, it should always return its contents as ordered however i reference it. Anyone have advice on something that i may be missing that is obvious, or routes to take on the "correct" method of correcting this before I plunge into the OrderedFolder code and return with a patch? thanks, Chris Humphries

How to convert the url to parameter
by Terry 28 Dec '01

28 Dec '01

Dear list, Probably it's a dummy question. But I just don't know how-to. Does any one know to convert the url to parameter. For example: http://somehost/parse/db_name/table_name/some_field_name/condition I would like to write a python script or dtml-method named "parse" to grab the record from database. Use the parameter to build a page from "SELECT * from db_name.table_name WHERE field_name='some_field_name' AND condition ='condition' " Thanks in advance. Terry

dtml-if
by maillists＠summitmedia.com.ph 28 Dec '01

28 Dec '01

Greetings and Merry Holiday! I need help with dtml-if. I was able to successfully implement customized error messages with email sending to me. The problem is, I want to avoid receiving email when the errors are common like LoginRequired errors. I used this: <dtml-if "error_type != 'LoginRequired'"> <dtml-var sysad_send_process> </dtml-if> But then I want to avoid additional errors and thus: <dtml-if "error_type != 'NotFound'"> <dtml-var sysad_send_process> <dtml-elif "error_type != 'Not Found'"> <dtml-var sysad_send_process> <dtml-elif "error_type != 'LoginRequired'"> <dtml-var sysad_send_process> <dtml-elif "error_type != 'SMTPSenderRefused'"> <dtml-var sysad_send_process> <dtml-elif "error_type != 'Bad Request'"> <dtml-var sysad_send_process> </dtml-if> But now, all errors are sent to me. It seems like the dtml-if and dtml-elif does not work. What did I do wrong? fritz <www.mesedilla.com> senior systems administrator summit interactive, inc. www.fhm.com.ph | www.femalenetwork.com | www.candymag.com --- +basta ikaw Lord

Getting Ids from newly created objects
by Keith J. Farmer 28 Dec '01

28 Dec '01

I've created a gallery for a website, using the Photo/PhotoFolder product. I've added the commands to add each, but have a slight interface quandry. I'd like to be able to retrieve the id of the newly created Photo object, in the case when its id is generated automatically based on the filename. I've looked in the code and it seems to use OFS.Image.cookId(): is there any way to access that via DTML? ---------- Keith J. Farmer kfarmer(a)thuban.org http://www.thuban.org
