ZMySQLDA compile error
by Stephan Goeldi 27 Dec '01

I installed and compiled MySQL-Python successfully in my Zope 2.4.3 tree. Afterwards I start compiling ZMySQLDA with "make -f Makefile.pre.in boot" which runs without error. Then I start "make" and get this output: gcc -fPIC -I/usr/local/mysql/include -I/usr/include/mysql -g -O2 -I/usr/include /python1.5 -I/usr/include/python1.5 -DHAVE_CONFIG_H -c ./MySQLmodule.c ./MySQLmodule.c: In function `pythonify_row': ./MySQLmodule.c:238: warning: assignment from incompatible pointer type ./MySQLmodule.c: In function `pythonify_res_fields': ./MySQLmodule.c:384: invalid lvalue in unary `&' ./MySQLmodule.c: In function `STH_fetchdict': ./MySQLmodule.c:1125: invalid lvalue in unary `&' ./MySQLmodule.c:1147: invalid lvalue in unary `&' make: *** [MySQLmodule.o] Error 1 _________________________________________________________________ MSN Photos is the easiest way to share and print your photos: http://photos.msn.com/support/worldwide.aspx

url_quote in python scripts.
by Gilles Lenfant 27 Dec '01

27 Dec '01

Hi, I'm building hyperlinks in python scripts based on objects (Zope 2.3.3). This works till no object has space or special (French) character in its id. Unfortunately, I did dot find the way to have an url_quote in a python script (can't import urllib) like in a <dtml-var... url_quote>. Thanks in advance. --Gilles PS: Where's the wish list for next versions of Zope. Some kind of "Unrestricted python scripts" available to managers only would be so cool !

Round This!
by Ben Ocean 26 Dec '01

26 Dec '01

Hi; I have a variable, subtotal, that is an even dollar amount. I want to add 2 zeros to the right of the decimal point. I thought this expression: <dtml-var expr="_.round(subtotal,2)"> would do the trick, but am sadly disappointed. What do I do? TIA, BenO

cannot upload files/create new objects
by Adam Garratt 26 Dec '01

26 Dec '01

relative newbie problem: all of the sudden today, after uploading hundreds and hundreds of small/med/large documents onto a website, my zope won't let me create any new objects or upload any new documents. i've tried all first-tier solutions, including re-installing zope, restarting computer & zope, making sure i have disk space, etc. but still, when i try something as simple as creating a new folder, my browser sits and "works" and "works" and never times out. help? adam

collector voting
by Jeff Sacksteder 26 Dec '01

26 Dec '01

Is there some mechanism for voting on bug reports in the collector? I have run up against issue #53 in a project I am working on, and I'm stopped until it's resolved. It would be nice to have some way to add a 'me too' message to distinguish obscure issues from ones that are affecting many people. That way they could be better prioritized.

importing
by Stephan Goeldi 26 Dec '01

26 Dec '01

I try to import a file.zexp which is an exported folder. The browser doesn't stop trying to import, but nothing happens. The file is about 2mb of size. After about 10 minutes I stop the import. No traceback or error message. What is going on here? _________________________________________________________________ MSN Photos is the easiest way to share and print your photos: http://photos.msn.com/support/worldwide.aspx

closer_but _ still_lost

Ok, found the start Icon and clicked it. Got a Dos box. It seemed to do nothing. Then I clicked the link I was given below. I got messages that said a new Zope disk had been detected. It seemed that I was talking to a Zope program somewhere and it was trying to assign me a spot. I think the word socket came up a few times. Each time there was a consecutive number, 8020, 8021,8022 ect. I was expecting a screen from a web page like I had seen on a tutorial. Unfortunately I cannot find that tutorial now. Is this something I operate from a dos box? Or should I get a web page when I click the link below? Thanx John Q. Public if you're installing zope in 98, and didnt change anything, then zope will be installed in c:\program files\WebSite go to that folder, double click start.bat then access zope from http://localhost:8080/manage to get started --------------------------------- Do You Yahoo!?
