P.S. Oh yes, does it matter that I am in Hungary? Tracert times going through London and New Jersey can be pretty slow. 600 to 800 ms .Could that be part of the problem? Still lost

Glad to hear I can do a lot without coding in Python. However I am still lost. Url's did not work for me. I am running windows 98. Zope Website folder? Is that a folder on the Zope web site or a folder titled website in what I dowloaded? If the latter I cannot find it. Zope runs as a service?? You mean Zope becomes my ISP? Or something like that? Still lost, but encouraged to hear that it is easier than Python. I am getting somewhere with Python, slowly. So I guess I might somewhere with Zope not so slowly. If only I can install it and find the start button. :) *********************************************************************************************************************************** Zope normally runs as a service - the only thing you get to see is the web (and other server) interfaces - try:- http://localhost:8080 - for a quick intro http://localhost:8080/manage - for the management interface This is assuming you are on Win NT or 2K and you local machien resolves to localhost (if not try substituting 127.0.0.1 for localhost in the above URLs), and have chosen to run Zope as a service - if it's not running as a service or you are on Win 9x, look for start.bat in the Zope Website folder, run that and try those URLs... --------------------------------- Do You Yahoo!? I am running windows 98. if you're installing zope in 98, and didnt change anything, then zope will be installed in c:\program files\WebSite go to that folder, double click start.bat then access zope from http://localhost:8080/manage to get started have fun

I am a Newbie programmer. I started programming in Python a few weeks ago. I have written one succesful tic tac toe program. I assume I can learn Zope and Python at the same time. If this is wrong please let me know. I just downloaded Zope 2.4.3 It installed, or so it said, but I can't seem to find the start button. Is building basic web web pages in Zope easier or harder than Writing code in Python? Any good Tutorials for complete begginers to Zope and web page building? Thanks John Q. Zope and MOOs...

Okay, what with roles, and other things (as well as CMF and everything entailed there) it seems like it would not be too hard (though take some time) to implement a WWW-based MOO (i.e. similar to DU-MOO, or similar Java/WWW-based MOOs).
