Is there a "Virtual Folder" Product??
by Philipp Robbel 27 Jul '01

27 Jul '01

Hi everyone, I have one quick question. Our current directory structure is the following: root |- english | |-> standard_html_header | `- research | `-> index_html, Aims, Projects ... `- german |-> standard_html_header `- research `-> index_html The main problem is that there are pages that are only maintained in the english -> research folder where there are no aequivalents in the german -> research folder. It would be great if a Zope product existed that would "mirror" _only_ the contents of the english -> research folder to the german -> research folder so that a call to http://server/german/research/Aims would be the german standard_html_header along with the (english) Aims document. Does such a product exist? It would be great if anyone could point me to a solution to this problem. Thanks again and sorry for my non-text mail to the zope mailing list (I can't find a switch in this outlook webaccess to enable text-only!), Philipp Robbel

ODBC DA with Zope2.4.0
by Thomas Hauck 27 Jul '01

27 Jul '01

I'm new to Zope and just installed the latest version (2.4.0). I also downloaded the ZODBCDA driver (it seems rather old to me (1999)). Is this the current driver? Where do I get the latest version? I installed the driver in the products folder and the system gives me an error that python15.dll can not be found. What am I doing wrong? Thanks, Thomas

ANNOUNCE: cgi.py vulnerability hotfix for Zope...
by Brian Lloyd 27 Jul '01

27 Jul '01

This hotfix addresses a potential denial-of-service vulnerability in applications that use the Python cgi module (cgi.py) for parsing of "multipart" Web form data (Zope uses this functionality internally). More detailed information is available in the Python bug tracker at SourceForge: http://sourceforge.net/tracker/?group_id=5470&atid=105470&func=detail&aid=44 3120 While we are not aware of any instances of abuse of this vulnerability, we *highly* recommend that any Zope site running versions of Zope up to and including 2.4.0 have this hotfix product installed to mitigate this issue. (Zope 2.4.1 will not require the installation of a separate hotfix). http://www.zope.org/Products/Zope/Hotfix_2001-07-25/README.txt http://www.zope.org/Products/Zope/Hotfix_2001-07-25/Hotfix_2001-07-25.tgz Brian Lloyd brian(a)digicool.com Software Engineer 540.371.6909 Digital Creations http://www.digicool.com

Hello I have a fresh installation of Zope 2.4.0 and installed ZODBC (ZODBCDA-3.1.0b2-win32-x86) in this installation. This is the only extra product. When i start up i get: 2001-07-27T15:30:19 ERROR(200) Zope Could not import Products.ZODBCDA Traceback (innermost last): File C:\Program Files\Zope\lib\python\OFS\Application.py, line 552, in import_ product File C:\Program Files\Zope\lib\python\Products\ZODBCDA\__init__.py, line 91, in ? The last part is dutch, something like: could not find one of the library files of this application. line 86 of db.py read: from sql import * There is a sql.pyd, not an sql.py. Anybody the product working yet? It is a rather essential one for me. RE: [Zope] kludge around byteserving problem (2.4)
by Farrell, Troy 27 Jul '01

<speculation type="mere"> Me thinks the Adobe (boo, hiss) plugin is using HTTP/1.1 to retreive _parts_ of the .pdf file. ZServer does not support HTTP/1.1 completely, hence the need for a hack. </speculation> I haven't looked at the HTTP requests and headers to verify. Troy -----Original Message----- From: Kyler B. Laird [mailto:laird@ecn.purdue.edu] Sent: Wednesday, July 18, 2001 3:52 PM To: zope(a)zope.org Subject: [Zope] kludge around byteserving problem (2.4) It seems that 2.4.0b3 has a problem with byteserving, but I haven't figured it out enough to submit a problem report. The symptom, however, is that large (>32KB) PDF objects can be downloaded and viewed in an external helper app, but don't appear in the Adobe plugin. My kludge is to make a simple Python Script that simply serves up the object's data. request = context.REQUEST RESPONSE = request.RESPONSE objectname=str(request.other['traverse_subpath'][0]) object=context[objectname] RESPONSE.setHeader('Content-type', object.getProperty('content_type')) return object.data This guarantees that no byteserving will take place (because it's dynamic). Named "viewfilter", it's called as .../viewfilter/foo.pdf I'll try to figure out what's really going on and submit it to the tracker. --kyler _______________________________________________ Zope maillist - Zope(a)zope.org http://lists.zope.org/mailman/listinfo/zope ** No cross posts or HTML encoding! ** (Related lists - http://lists.zope.org/mailman/listinfo/zope-announce http://lists.zope.org/mailman/listinfo/zope-dev )

Automatically go to another page after query results?
by Bob Campbell 27 Jul '01

27 Jul '01

Hello all, Can anyone help Sheree, cause I certainly can't..., I'm still chunking away at the basics... Thanks! Here is the scenario.... (all of this is generated from a database) A user looks at the Officer info page and then clicks Modify to change the information. In the Modify page, once the user clicks Submit, the update is made and I then need to and send the user to back to the Officer info page. I've been trying RESPONSE.redirect but cannot figure out syntactically how to pass the parameters... RESPONSE.redirect('cltest?var1=<dtml-var var1in>') The above causes var1 to be equal to the actual text of <dtml-var var1in> So what I need to do is... within a dtml method I want to automatically go to another page (need to pass parameters as well) after certain steps are performed such as an update query In Cold Fusion I was able to do this using the CFLOCATION tag. Hope someone can help! Sheree Beaudette, AVP > Applications Support Analyst > Banknorth Group, Commercial Services > 207-828-7133 > Fax: 207-756-6990 > sbeaudette(a)banknorth.com > >

LoginManager problem (get access without login)?
by wazum-mail (wolfgang) 27 Jul '01

27 Jul '01

Hiya! I have a problem with LoginManager: When I try to access a protected folder I get the login site (that's ok), but when I press "back" and "forward" I get the protected content (e.g. index_html) ??? very strange behavior ... solution anyone? I thought that it has something to do with caching and added <dtml-call "RESPONSE.setHeader('Cache-Control', 'no-store, private, s-maxage=0, must-revalidate')"> to standard_html_header, but that has no effect ... I use Zope Version Zope 2.3.2 (binary release, python 1.5.2, win32-x86) Python Version 1.5.2 (#0, Jul 30 1999, 09:52:18) [MSC 32 bit (Intel)] System Platform win32 and Internet Explorer 5.00.2314.1003 ... tia Wolfgang ----------------------------------- wazum-mail ;-) (wolfgang(a)wazum.com) url ( http://www.wazum.com/ )
