Someone else just reported this on zope-dev(a)zope.org "[Zope-dev] Xron and Zope 2.4.0 again". I'm not using 2.4.0; and I don't have a ready fix. live meta_type upgrading?

Is it possible to change object types of existing objects? My naive idea is just to search/replace each meta_type for all objects in a container as with the ReplaceSupport Product. But this changes only the content not such an important attribute. Such a TypeChange product could check for needed methods and properties and change them (update, delete, insert) on the fly as well. This way the content and children need to be changed (export/re-import or cut/paste). Use Case: Change some folders BTree Folders, ... Change some DTML Documents to DTML Methods, ... Yeah, I figured it was likely something like this. I will migrate to BTree folders eventually, but these are custom Folder types subclassed from OFS.Folder in a python product that I can't change at the moment becuase I'm going live with a site using the product... Then again, if it's likely just a matter of changing what I subclass from... Odd request: how to shutdown Zope

Hello, is there a method (or URL) that I can use to shut down Zope? It would be a / folder manager (authenticated, of course). I know that (s)he can travel to the control panel but I'd like to have the possibility to shutdown elsewhere. Is this possible? Best regards, Carlos.

atomic operations

Hi folks! I have a table it has an auto increment fields. How could i have the id id insert by my last query atomically? I know i could use last_insert_id() function with MySQL, but since my mysql handler is shared by many instances of Zope, i cannot garantee that no other query runs between the insert and the select last_insert_id queries.
