I assume this should work when Lake.class is kept inside the ZODB. Maybe it must be neccessary that Zope send the right MIME-type for .class objects. If it does not work, what is the error message of the browser. When using Netscape you can find additional error messages inside the Java console. Applet does not work

Hi, I was wondering if Zope supports Java Applets. I recently added some code to a dhtml method that calls a function called simple.class. I was unable to get the applet to work. Can Zope support Applets? Here is the code that I tried to use. <center><b><table border="10-10"><td> <applet code="Lake.class" id="Lake" width="320" height="350"> <param name="image" value="fantasy.jpg"> <param name="overlay" value> <param name="href" value> </applet></b></td></table></center> Cheers, DC

Iterating over REQUEST.form
by David Legg 23 May '01

23 May '01

Hi all, I'm sure somebody more clever than me can work this out. I'm getting results back from a form (checkboxes), so I never know how many items I am going to get back. What I want to be able to do is iterate over the contents of REQUEST.form to be able to process each item, no matter how many results I get from a form. Is there a way of doing this (I'm definitely sure there is but I'm not seeing it), or perhaps there is a better way. Thanks in advance, David

Getting the value from a select box
by Tommy Johnson 23 May '01

23 May '01

Hey all, I can use this code to get the value of a textbox. <dtml-with REQUEST only> <dtml-var "form['txtID']"> </dtml-with> - txtID is the name of the textbox. Now, my question is, how do you get the value from a select drop-down box? <dtml-var "form['size']"> doesn't work where the drop-down box name is size. Also <dtml-var "form['size.value']"> or <dtml-var "form['size.selectedIndex']"> doesn't work, however, I suspect it is because it's thinking I'm asking for a form field named size.selectedIndex or size.value So how do you get this value? Thanks in advance - and I'll probably thank you again after you answer, Tommy

Hi again ! ----- Original Message ----- From: "Sherwood Robinson" <srobinson(a)fredericksburg.com> To: "nuno" <nuno(a)fccn.pt> Sent: Tuesday, May 22, 2001 7:18 PM Subject: Re: [Zope] Zserver stability problems > Try restarting Apache... does it come back that way? I have tried restarting apache when this problem had occured, but everything was still the same ! When i restarted zope all became fine ! I have read that this kind of problems can be related to the number of threads, I have checked that, i have the sugested 4 threads running ! I discovered in this mailling list that in some cases, zope hangs due to the lack of requests !!! Isn't it strange ? > Can you tell how much of your system resources are being use by Zope? There are 6 python processes spending 26 M each. I have plenty of RAM : ) All resources are fine ! > Does it seem like the site gets slower the longer it is running? Nope ! Actually it's speed is good ! > Are you running Debug.log on your Zope? I am now, i'll keep an eye on that log ! > > Are there any changes that you made to your Zope before this happened? I altered the dtml-tree source code because i wanted to pass some arguments in a recursive way. I think it has nothing to do with hanging zope. What do you thing of using fastcgi ? Could it hang zope ? What is so strange is that zope is allright, and sudenly it gives me a blank page with the zope listenner UP ! Hello, I am new to python ! I want to pass an argument to an external method. The argument is an dtml document (more precisely: the content of the document). I tried this: <dtml-var ExternalMethod(<dtml-var DtmlDocument>)> This produces a "parse error". I guess there have to be some quotes or brackets - but where? Thank's in advance Andreas

zope 2.3 instability
by jose 23 May '01

23 May '01

Hi all, I have a problem of stability with my Zope. seems that every time zope sends the following line to debug.log: <timestamp>: PROBLEM(100) ZServer unhandled connect event. Zope goes in loop, sucks all the available memory and goes down. Some times zope crash my Linux with the message: kernel:VM: do_try_to_free_pages failed for kswapd. I'm thinking to return back to the Zope previous release. Any ideas? Thank you to all. José

All i want to do is something like: Results 19 to 25 of 33, searching for "one two three" At the top of a dtml-in that's displaying the results of a catalog query. I got this so far: Results <B><dtml-var query_start></B> to <B>???</B> of <B><dtml-var sequence-length></B>, searching for <B>"<dtml-var "REQUEST.searchText">"</B> I need the bit that replaces the ???. I've trie everything i can think of and I'm running out of hari to pull out ;-) Anyone got the answer? cheers, Chris
