lost of namespace problem

i am playing around with some menu building functions . the menu is renderd with some recursive calls from an mysql database everything part alone works fine, but if i put all of the code together some hard namespace problems accour, which i cant get fixed ! can anybody help me ???? persistence problem with python product

hello I made a python product class which inherits from Folder and is persistent. Then ive made a helper class, see the listing (ive tried with and without inheriting Persistent) , the CommonPropertyContainer is now an attribute of a Class called Site: class CommonPropertyContainer(Persistent): "a container for properties" def __init__(self,id,title): self.id=id self.title=title self._properties = {} def setProperty(self,id,title,value): self._properties[id] = {"title":title,"value":value} def setPropertyValue(self,id,value): self._properties[id]['value'] = value def getProperties(self): return self._properties.items() ___________________________________________________ now when i change values via the setPropertyValue(method) the new values get lost when I restart zope I dont know but I heard that objects used by a class which is persistent are automatically persistent too please help

I'm not quite sure that Zope is the tool for this problem, so I'm asking the experts. This is the problem. I have a PAT object, this PAT object is a folderish thing that can contain other PAT objects (as children of the parent) and also PRIO objects, which pertain to the particular PAT. The hierarchy can look something like this... PAT_1 -- PRIO_1, PRIO_2, PRIO_3 | +-- PAT_2 -- PRIO_4, PRIO_5, PRIO_6 | } | +-- PAT_3 -- PRIO_7, PRIO_8, PRIO_9, PRIO_10, PRIO_11 | +-- PAT_4 -- PRIO_12, PRIO_13 I want the users to be able to load various PRIO objects into a particular PAT folder. Moreover, and most importantly, if I am viewing the PAT_3 object, I need to be able to list all of the PRIO objects in all of the other related PAT objects (i.e., get a list including PRIO_1 through PRIO_13). Is there some type of query statement (to the ZODB) that I could return such a list? Cheers, Ron

Folks: Looked hard and long at the archives and saw a few remotely relatedly threads, but nothing this simple and this befudding. For some dark reason beyond my newbie ken, a previously functioning form and form handler combo is now kaputt. What seems to be happening (the bizarre part) is that the value of a form select box is not appearing in the REQUEST namespace. Are you sure that "Foo_dtml" is a DTML Document (and not a DTML Method)? If it would be a DTML Method, then it might find an "images" in "Subfolder" which does not contain your image. Dieter
