RE: [Zope] Problem refreshing a python product

Thanks for all the advice. I found the problem with the -D flag. Line 10 in __init__.py was: contructors = ( Should have been: constructors = ( Oops. Thanks for all the suggestions. I'm sure they'll come in handy in the future :) By the way, line 30 in ZProductManager.py didn't exist, though the product said that was the problem. Those blasted constructors can be really useful sometimes :) Thanks again, Troy -----Original Message----- From: Phillip Crumpler [mailto:phillip@crumpler.com.au] Sent: Tuesday, March 13, 2001 7:45 AM To: Jim Washington; troy.farrell(a)wilcom.com Subject: RE: [Zope] Problem refreshing a python product It may be the formatting of the email, but could line 30 possibly begin in column 6? It might point to the line being indented one space too many... cheers Phillip ps: Sorry if this sounds like a 'are you sure it's plugged in' kind of answer, but it is better to get one of those answers when you don't need it that vice-versa =) > -----Original Message----- > From: zope-admin(a)zope.org [mailto:zope-admin@zope.org]On Behalf Of Jim > Washington > Sent: Wednesday, 14 March 2001 12:19 AM > To: Farrell, Troy > Cc: 'zope(a)zope.org' > Subject: Re: [Zope] Problem refreshing a python product > > > Hi, Troy > > Assuming the traceback below is what you are getting now, I would look > somewhere around line 30 in ZProductManager.py. WebDAV + Dreamweaver
by Carl Blesius 13 Mar '01

I just got a response from dreamweaver support concerning the WebDAV problems with Zope!! they put the download to update dreamweaver WebDAV on this page http://www.macromedia.com/support/dreamweaver/ Next step is to get dreamweaver to open Zope files (files without extentions). I have already sent a request to dreamweaver (it would probably help if someone else did the same). Has anybody made progress with this in the meantime? I need a WYSIWYG editor and everyone at my university is already familiar with dreamweaver. Tips/Tricks? Greetings from Heidelberg Germany, Carl

.html extensions
by Chris Cioffi 13 Mar '01

Hi all, way back I saw a reference on how to make it look like Zope objects end in '.html'. This can be important for getting into search engines. I've got Apache proxying back to Zope, so I thought that mod_rewrite would be my friend, however Zope still generates URLs w/o the .html. Any help would be great. Thanks. Chris

Help, please.

To Whom it May Concern: System: Windows NT 4.0; Python 1.5.2 I have downloaded Zope-2_3_0-win32-x86.exe I have installed it as an administartor into "C:\Program Files\Zope"; instalation name is default (I think it is "WebServer"). I choose to start Zope manually. Zope seems to work for administartor. I changed the permitions on the zope folder (and subfolders) to allow 'full control' for my everyday user account "Joe". Now I log in as "Joe". I can start up zope process (via start.bat). I can load the initial screen at http://localhost:8080, but as I go to "Zope Management Interface", the Internet Explorer gives a message: Internet Explorer cannot open the Internet site http://localhost:8080/manage. Invalid argument" I would be greateful, if you can help me with this. With best regards, Andriy Levytskyy

Hello Phillip, thanks for your response. The problem is I've already got a FileUpload instance. (The user is uploading via a form,a bmp or tif) I'm converting(resizing etc.), saving to the filesystem(as tif)and then I'd like to convert to jpeg, return it to Zope and add it to the ZODB. Ok. Did that and deleted the pyc's. Now the Product isn't showing up on the product page. If I undelete it, it keeps the same traceback. Debug: Zope version: Zope 2.3.1b1 (source release, python 1.5.2, linux2) Python version: 1.5.2 (#0, Apr 3 2000, 14:46:48) [GCC 2.95.2 20000313 (Debian GNU/Linux)] System Platform: linux2 Process ID: 7707 (4101) Running for: 3 min 23 sec Traceback: Traceback (innermost last): File "/home/zope/Zope-2.3.1b1-src/lib/python/OFS/Application.py", line 537, in import_products product=__import__(pname, global_dict, global_dict, silly) File "/home/zope/zope/lib/python/Products/ZProductManager/__init__.py", line 2, in ? from ZProductManager import ZProductManager File "/home/zope/zope/lib/python/Products/ZProductManager/ZProductManager.py", line 30 if REQUEST is not None: ^ SyntaxError: invalid syntax I moved the product out of the zope directory structure and restarted. It was gone. Good. I brought it back in and restarted and it isn't showing up. That sounds like a problem in my __init__.py file. It is below if you don't mind looking it over: from ZProductManager import ZProductManager def initialize(context): """Initalize the ZProductManager product. This causes it to appear on the product list in the Zope installation.""" context.registerClass( ZProductManager, contructors = ( ZProductManager.manage_addZProductManagerForm, # The first method # is called when someone # adds the product ZProductManager.manage_addZProductManager ) ) If it helps, I'll send ZProductManager.py as well. Thanks again. PythonScript translation
by Timothy Wilson 13 Mar '01

Hi everyone, Here's a simple question for somebody: The default add method for a ZClass I just created looks like this: <HTML> <HEAD><TITLE>Add SchoolMenuClass</TITLE></HEAD> <BODY BGCOLOR="#FFFFFF" LINK="#000099" VLINK="#555555"> <dtml-with "SchoolMenuClass.createInObjectManager(REQUEST['id'], REQUEST)"> <dtml-call "propertysheets.Basic.manage_editProperties(REQUEST)"> <dtml-call reindex_object> </dtml-with> <dtml-if DestinationURL> <dtml-call "RESPONSE.redirect(DestinationURL+'/manage_workspace')"> <dtml-else> <dtml-call "RESPONSE.redirect(URL2+'/manage_workspace')"> </dtml-if> </body></html> This works fine, but I'd like to create an id and title based on the form input without having the user worry about the format of the text. This is a lot easier with Python than DTML. So what would be the equivalent of the above DTML Method in a PythonScript? -Tim -- Tim Wilson | Visit Sibley online: | Check out: Henry Sibley HS | http://www.isd197.k12.mn.us/ | http://www.zope.org/ W. PIL and Filesystem
by brocken22＠gmx.de 13 Mar '01

Hello, I'm using PIL to convert bmp and tiff-images to jpeg. After conversion they should be added to Zope. My problem is that for conversion, I think, I have to safe them on the filesystem. Zope's security policy doesn't allow me to delete files with an external method. Am I forced to do a cron-job? Isn't it possible to change the format in another way?? Thanks very much!! I've heard that's easier to stream the images and convert them on the fly! Any hint?? Thanks. -- Sent through GMX FreeMail - http://www.gmx.net
