Hi all, way back I saw a reference on how to make it look like Zope objects end in '.html'. This can be important for getting into search engines. I've got Apache proxying back to Zope, so I thought that mod_rewrite would be my friend, however Zope still generates URLs w/o the .html. Any help would be great. Thanks. Chris

To Whom it May Concern: System: Windows NT 4.0; Python 1.5.2 I have downloaded Zope-2_3_0-win32-x86.exe I have installed it as an administartor into "C:\Program Files\Zope"; instalation name is default (I think it is "WebServer"). I choose to start Zope manually. Zope seems to work for administartor. I changed the permitions on the zope folder (and subfolders) to allow 'full control' for my everyday user account "Joe". Now I log in as "Joe". I can start up zope process (via start.bat). I can load the initial screen at http://localhost:8080, but as I go to "Zope Management Interface", the Internet Explorer gives a message: Internet Explorer cannot open the Internet site http://localhost:8080/manage. Invalid argument" I would be greateful, if you can help me with this. With best regards, Andriy Levytskyy

Hello Phillip, thanks for your response. The problem is I've already got a FileUpload instance. (The user is uploading via a form,a bmp or tif) I'm converting(resizing etc.), saving to the filesystem(as tif)and then I'd like to convert to jpeg, return it to Zope and add it to the ZODB. Ok. Did that and deleted the pyc's. Now the Product isn't showing up on the product page. If I undelete it, it keeps the same traceback. PIL and Filesystem

Hello, I'm using PIL to convert bmp and tiff-images to jpeg. After conversion they should be added to Zope. My problem is that for conversion, I think, I have to safe them on the filesystem. Zope's security policy doesn't allow me to delete files with an external method. Am I forced to do a cron-job? Isn't it possible to change the format in another way?? Thanks very much!! problem in installing zope in Linux

Hi, Do i need to install Zope in root directory of Linux ?. Otherthing is, is Zope Linux Kernal dependent ?,B'coz The Zope which was installed for one kernal version of Linux doesn't get installed in the other Kernal version. when i give ./install it says ../zope-dir/bin/python is not a file or directory. What may be the problem. please throw some light. The zope version is 2.2.5 Thanks, jacintha

problem installing ZOPE

Hi, I want to use ZOPE with linux server. when I try to run the install script I get the following error. ../zope-dir/bin/python : No such File or Directory. I have not logged in as root. linux version is 2.0. Zope version is 2.2.5 what may be the problem kindly help. subrahmanyan.
