PANIC(300) & FSSession?
by Peter Bengtsson 27 Feb '01

And what does this mean? Is it as bad as I felt it was. I had to restart Zope. 2001-02-27T09:19:28 PANIC(300) ZODB A storage error occurred in the last phase of a two-phase commit. Add a new instance of product
by Steffen Bergmann 27 Feb '01

27 Feb '01

Does anyone know how I can add an instance of a Product like "ExtFile" in any folder I like using DTML and not using the managementscreen. I only found how to add an instance of an product I designed myself in DTML. Is there something like manage_addExtFile() ? What parameters needs the method? Thanks for helping. Steffen

Adding properties to all objects of a certain type
by Carl Blesius 27 Feb '01

27 Feb '01

I want to add certain properties to objects of a certain type without having to use the web interface (there are too many of them)... e.g. I would like to add the following properties to all folders: title_en (string), nickname (string), nickname_en (string), template (string), reviewed (boolean) and the following to all DTML-Documents: lang (string), nickname (string), template (string), keywords (string), author (string), reviewed (boolean) A few documents and folders on the site have these properties already (is this a problem?). And after I add these properties to all documents and folders how do I get Zope to add them to new ones automatically? I want to keep everything as simple as possible... i.e. no Z Class to worry about when upgrading, etc. Concrete examples would be appreciated (theoretically I know it is possible with Zope considering what I have been able to do up to this point as a greenhorn!). Thanks, Carl.

updating Squisdot sites 0.3.2->0.7.3
by Cornelis J. de Brabander 27 Feb '01

27 Feb '01

Hi, I am searching for an easy way to upgrade some thirty squishdot sites from version 0.3.2 to 0.7.3. The reason behind all this is that I want to migrate an existing site frome Zope 2.1.6. to Zope 2.2.2. I exported my site from 2.1.6 and imported it in 2.2.2. Then, I tried to be clever and copied all items in the root folder of a newly installed squisdot site (with version 0.7.3) to replace the content of an old 0.3.2-site (residing now in my new Zope install 2.2.2.). Well, it did not work out. Can anybody give me a clue how to go about this upgrade? I tried some idea's, but to no avail. Recataloging gives an AttributeError (_catalog) with the following traceback: File D:\Zope222\lib\python\ZPublisher\Publish.py, line 222, in publish_module File D:\Zope222\lib\python\ZPublisher\Publish.py, line 187, in publish File D:\Zope222\lib\python\Zope\__init__.py, line 221, in zpublisher_exception_hook (Object: Traversable) File D:\Zope222\lib\python\ZPublisher\Publish.py, line 171, in publish File D:\Zope222\lib\python\ZPublisher\mapply.py, line 160, in mapply (Object: recatalogPostings) File D:\Zope222\lib\python\ZPublisher\Publish.py, line 112, in call_object (Object: recatalogPostings) File D:\Zope222\lib\python\Products\Squishdot\Squishdot.py, line 377, in recatalogPostings (Object: Traversable) AttributeError: (see above) Update indexing did not work out eather. SV: [Zope] Reformatting a date string?
by Geir Bækholt 27 Feb '01

27 Feb '01

You could try something like : <dtml-var "_.DateTime.date('yourString')"> - think there is a comprehensive list of dateTime methods in the ZQR or the DTML reference -- Geir Bækholt geirh(a)funcom.com >I'm just starting to play around with Zope, and I can't figure out how >to take a string containing a date/time (I'm getting it from an SQL >query) and print it in a different date/time format in DTML. >Suggestions? > >meeroh >

Python Scripts: using the zip function
by Kevin Teague 27 Feb '01

27 Feb '01

Does anyone handy with Python Scripts know how to use the built-in function zip, which was introduced in Python 2.0? I'm using Zope 2.3.1 with ActivePython 2.0 build 202 and if I run the python interpreter I get: >>> a = (1,2,3) >>> b = (4,5,6) >>> c = zip(a,b) >>> print c [(1, 4), (2, 5), (3, 6)] But if I try the same thing in a Python Script I get: Error Type: NameError Error Value: There is no variable named 'zip' Kevin Teague http://www.bud.ca
