dtml syntax error with quotes

Hi all, This code results in a error: <dtml-let MyVar="_.string.replace(Mytext,'"','"')"> I know its because of the quote in '"' because that cause in same way an error when the "dtml parser" is parsing the code. I've tryed to use '\"' and even _.chr(34) instead of " but the former gives me the same error and the latter dont give a error but also dont do the string replace I want to do. Any help? ZClass Icon broken when ZClass moved.

I had a ZClass (InnerClass) which was defined within another ZClass (OuterClass) as follows : /Control_Panel/Products/MyProduct/OuterClass/InnerClass And a great many instances were defined with both the OuterClass and the InnerClass. However, in order to catalog the InnerClass (it is not CatalogAware and I do not want it to be), I need to move it to /Control_Panel/Products/MyProduct/InnerClass in order for 'InnerClass' to appear in the select list ('Find objects of type') under the 'Find items to ZCatalog' tab of the ZCatalog. So far, so good. I moved the class and now can catalog it. However, now the icon is broken on all of the instances of the 'InnerClass' ZClass. I have tried adding a new icon under the 'basic' tab of the ZClass definition, but that doesn't help either. I know it's just a petty icon and it doesn't affect functionality but I'd really like to clean this up so any clues/help appreciated. Thank you very much, chas

Mailing traceback from standard_error_message

Is there a way to make standard_error_message email the traceback? (I have it emailing the error message, but I didn't know if there is a variable I can <dtml-var> to send the traceback.) Kevin

Hi! First of all I've to say that I'm a realy beginner in Zope. I recently updated from 2.1.3 to 2.1.6 and noticed following problems: In 2.1.3 <dtml-with "SAClass.createInObjectManager(REQUEST['fach'], REQUEST)"> <dtml-in "getSubjectInfo(fach=REQUEST['fach'])"> <dtml-call "propertysheets.Basic.manage_changeProperties(title=fachbez, empf_sem=empf_sem,diplompruefungsfach=diplfach)"> </dtml-in> </dtml-with> works great In 2.1.6 it produces an Error message that title, empf_sem, diplompruefungsfach is not known by the system (I already Posted that) Now I found out that <dtml-call "SAClass.createInObjectManager(REQUEST['fach'], REQUEST)"> <dtml-in "getSubjectInfo(fach=REQUEST['fach'])"> <dtml-call "_.getitem(REQUEST['fach'],1).propertysheets.Basic.manage_changeProperties(title=fachbez, empf_sem=empf_sem,diplompruefungsfach=diplfach)"> </dtml-in> works fine in 2.1.6. (getSubjectInfo is a SQL Method) Has someone a hint for me? Helmut.

Tobias, The Catalgo uses a stripper to make the indexes smaller. It doesn't index =-+*&)(^%$#@. etc... or numbers. Some words too like 'Bill'. From what I've been told there is a version of the Catalog on it's way which will allow you to put keywords or charaters in a special place that will include them. I couldn't wait for that, and I love Zope, so I came up with a major kludge. catalog_quote() and catalog_unquote(). They are from an External Method which I wrote catalog_quote.py. Here it is: from string import strip, split, join, uppercase, lowercase, find bad_characters=(('.'), ('+'), ('-'), (';'), (':'), ('&'), ('*'), ('%'), ('#'), ('@'), ('$'), ('0'), ('1'), ('2'), ('3'), ('4'), ('5'), ('6'), ('7'), ('8'), ('9')) def catalog_quote(self, ascii): text = str(ascii) for re in bad_characters: if find(text, re) >= 0: text=join(split(text,re),ordinalize(re)) return text def ordinalize(letter): number = ord(letter) number_string = str(number) myletters = lowercase[-5:] + uppercase[-10:] converted = '' for character in number_string: converted = converted + myletters[int(character)] return converted + 'g' def catalog_unquote(self, ascii): text = str(ascii) for un in bad_characters: if find(text, ordinalize(un)) >= 0: text=join(split(text,ordinalize(un)),un) return text I just use it to turn anything that might contain the charaters in bad_charaters into catalogable stuff. Newbie question - product embedding

Hello, I am just evaluating the Zope system, and it looks good. I am trying to build an example Intranet site, using Squishdot. I need a poll embedded in one of the Squishboxes. I tried both PMPPoll product and Poll product, but cannot get it to render into the page. I have a DTML method calling the poll object like this ... some simple HTML ... <br> <dtml-var name="my_sample_poll"> <br> .. some more simple HTML ... The simple HTML indeed appears in the box, but instead of the poll form, which I expect to be rendered, I get the following in the page source : <br> <Survey instance at 8635589> <br> Am I missing something obvious? Should I call the object from within my DTML method some other way? Thanks for your help. Michal Bukovjan

Problems with ZCatalog-indexing

Hello all, I've got some problems with indexing in ZCatalog. First of all it doesn't seem possible to index words containing any non-ascii characters (most important german umlauts). On zope.org the only info on charactersets I found was, that there are some supported ones, but I couldn't find out which these are. How is it possible to have a correct indexed catalog on a german site ? The second problem is related with the first one, but not restricted to german characters. Words where a hyphen appears, e.g. names like 'Hans-Dietrich', aren't indexed at all, in the example 'Hans-Dietrich' cannot be found on the site, but 'Hans' or 'Dietrich' cannot be found, either. If I cannot fix these Problems, the ZCatalog is unusable in the site, as there are a lot of important keywords using umlauts or containig hyphens.
