Zope 2.1.0: &dtml=expr "5+5"; doesn't work anymore?

Hi, I just upgraded from Zope 2.0.0 (stable version I believe) to Zope 2.1.0 and my site broke where I use &dtml-expr=""; syntax. I looked in the release notes for any changes to DTML syntax but noticed none which seem to cause my problem. (However, this same thing happened to me upgrading to 2.0.0 and the docs escaped my notice then so...) Basically, I'm using <... &dtml-expr="Python calculations go here"; ...> e.g., <TR BGCOLOR="#&dtml-expr="_.hex( 0xF8 - depth)[2:]";&dtml-expr="_.hex( 0xF8 - depth)[2:]";FF"> in several places. I noticed that the entity syntax has been upgraded with qualifiers. I've also tried a whole bunch of syntactic variations to get my &dtml-expr=""s to work, all to no avail. Finally, I've practiced newbie Zope Zen and tried to decipher DT_Var.py (or thereabouts) to see if I could figure out the fate of &dtml-expr. Anyway... Has &dtml-expr="" been deprecated, i.e., removed from Zope, or have I just failed to find the new secret incantation which gets me an expression using the entity syntax? Needless to say, any help appreciated. I don't mind changing my code, but I do need to know the new Zope 2.1.0 Zen of &dtml-expr="";). Thanks :-), = Joe =

Hi, I'm trying to run Zope on RH 6.1 but I'm getting this error message when I type "start" in the application directory. Any help would be greatly appreciated. This is just a HTML thing, not a Zope thing. You'll need to put bits of Javascript into your pages to control how the browser behaves when you click on a frame link. Normally in a frameset, a link will only replace the current frame's contents - you need to supply an onClick argument to your tags in the HTML to do what you want. Hm, there's a bunch of good sites and books out there dealing with this... try looking over at the documentation on netscape's web site. Anthony

returning ids from objectValues in External Method

I have a question that has *got* to have a simple answer, but I can´t seem to figure it out. I am trying to return a list of ids from an External Method, after they have been sorted and selected according to some simple search criteria. The code looks something like this (stripped down to the basics): idList=[] for OB in self.objectValues('HTML Document'): idList.append(getattr(OB, 'id') return idList And I get back a list of empty items (or empty strings with repr(getattr(OB, 'id')) - [,,,,,,] or ['','','','',''], respectively. I can get any other attribute (title, etc.), but not the id. Sigh. I clearly don't get it yet... Thanks for any help, JP JP Glutting zope(a)cochrane.es

Problems with ZCatalog searching - wrong results

My ZCatalog is not searching correctly - it returns completely wrong output. I have a foods ZCatalog (created in Zope 2.0, I'm running 2.1.0 now, but have the same problem in 2.1b2). I add an object with name_singular property of spaghetti, name_plural property of spaghettis. I add an object with name_singular property of noodle, name_plural property of noodles. If I search the catalog for name_singular=noodle I get no results - I should be getting the noodle object. If I search by name_plural=noodles I get the spaghetti object, i.e. the object I added reight before this. Updating the catalog fixes these problems. ANN: Python Methods 0.1.7 up and over to DC

I just uploaded version 0.1.7 of the PythonMethod Product. Here's the CHANGES.txt since 0.1.6: * Nested functions and lambdas are now supported, with full safety. * You can access all of the dtml-var format functions through a builtin dictionary called special_formats (eg: special_formats['html-quote']). * Handing off to Digital Creations for inclusion in CVS. * Packaged with packProduct script, which excludes parent directories and .pyc files. Makes for a smaller package, and doesn't step on ownership/permissions of lib/python/Products path elements. * Added COPYRIGHT.txt, making Wide Open Source licence (BSD-style) explicit. (Mike Goldman provided the text, I provided the silly name). * Jeff Rush donated a PrincipiaSearchSource method, so that PythonMethod objects can be zcataloged to the same degree as DTML Methods. * Also from Jeff Rush, a document_src method, so that the source of PythonMethods can be viewed via a "View Source" link if desired. * If a PM has a 'traverse_subpath' parameter, you can now directly traverse it. ZODB-as-filesystem exposure would open up a whole range of backend manipulation possibilities, not only for cvs but also for (scripted) editing, fast rsync mirroring etc. I guess this would also open up a Pandora's box of possible object tree integrity violations, security holes and the like.... but that's not inherently different from manually editing an xml export file. Hello out there, I'm subscribed to this List since July, but i never read somthing about the Problem i face right now. I want to set up a System that needs a frameset, which has to interact (like klicking on my menuebutton on the left changes both frames [left and right]) all managed by Zope. Now i can't find anything about Zope and Frames. My Question at this Point : Can i work with frames, or do i have to make it all in one page (like in most Systems aut there) ? If someone could point me to the some resource of information or give short answer i'd be happy ingo wilmer
