comparing variables ??

i try to compare two variables to check if they are equal, like this : <dtml-if expr="PARENTS[0].id == AUTHENTICATED_USER"> <h2>YES !!</h2> <dtml-else> <h2>NO</h2> </dtml-if> but it seems to me this is never true. It always reports NO , even though the variables look equal to me when referenced with : <dtml-var "AUTHENTICATED_USER"> <dtml-var "PARENTS[0].id"> -they both report the same string.. i am thoroughly puzzled.. i think it might have something to do with AUTHENTICATED_USER not being a string, but appending ':string' just produces errors.. from the changelog: Version 0.2.3 added patches from Duncan Booth: __call__ now has options noCookie and validSession. The former will cause the code to not set a cookie. The latter will raise an exception if the user attempts to use an invalid session. added getName() method to REQUEST.SESSION - returns the session ID. Previously you had to grovel through the REQUEST.cookies. Double-plus-ungood. by the way, if anyone knows how I can feed revision history from RCS into CVS, I'd _love_ to know the answer...

ANNOUNCE: ZCache 0.4

ZCache 0.4 is incompatible with previous versions - you'll have to recreate all your old ZCache instances. As of version 0.4 ZCache only supports Unix since it uses fcntl.flock for file locking. Patches to add Win32 file locking are welcome. Install ZCache by unpacking the tgz in your Zope folder and making sure you have a folder called "ZCache" (without quotes) folder in var/. http://www.zope.org/Members/itamar/ZCache **New in 0.4:** - The cache is stored in the filesystem (in var/ZCache) instead of in the ZODB. - ZCache generates Expires, Etag for HTTP caching. Last-Modified headers now behaves correctly (on Unix at least). - The cached method is looked up using its absolute path, e.g. /QuickStart/index_html or /Folder/Another Folder/cacheme. -- Itamar S.T. itamars(a)ibm.net

I hope this doesn't offend the people that have put so much work into Zope (which is an excellent product :), but the editor leaves much to be desired. Things such as; no search and replace, no syntax highlighting, search doesn't search arguments or properties etc. make it very frustrating to use Zope for sophisticated projects (Our corporate site has close to a thousand pages). The question then is, what are other Zopesters doing?

I can't figure out how to write this simple expression. I am trying to compare 2 variable in a dtml-if statement. ---variables: username: <dtml-var username><br> AUTHENTICATED_USER: <dtml-var AUTHENTICATED_USER><br> ---output: username: dan AUTHENTICATED_USER: dan ---expression: <dtml-if "username == AUTHENTICATED_USER"> ---evaluates false and I can't figure out why! Have also tried <dtml-if "username == REQUEST['AUTHENTICATED_USER']"> to no avail. help appreciated... Adam

Adding an image to a zclass with the add form

Hi, I have a zclass which contains an image. I would like to call up the add image screen immediately after the add form is filled out. I tried to add <dtml-with REQUEST> <dtml-with form> <dtml-call "manage_addImage()"> </dtml-with> </dtml-with> but I do not have the local image name. I want to use the standard add image screen.
