In instances where the company name is a string followed by a number (in this instance, "the451 group"), searching for the number ("451") even with wildcards ("*451*"), only finds references where the number is alone, and not part of any other string. Oddly, searching for "t*451" matches the name. I'm running the binary 2.6.2 (and 2.6.1) releases on linux. This occurrs in both. Any ideas why this would happen? Is this correctable? -jim

using VHM (was: [Zope] changing the base path)

I am attempting to use the Virtual Host Monster (VHM) to remap base paths. The VHM's edit tab keeps return an error stating that the "path" folder doesn't exist. For example, I enter the following (real) values: Domain: www.mlstracker.com Path: /paula and the following error displays: "The path /paula was not found" Yet it exists. If I drop the slash and use "paula" rather than "/paula" VHM says it succeeds. However, when I execute the url: www.mlstracker.com I do not get the results that I expect (which is displayed by www.mlstracker.com/paula) What should I do to figure this out? DateTime and daylight saving time (one more time).

Hi Zopistas: Last October 26th. here in Mexico we changed to the non daylight saving time period of the year. Some Zope applications that rely on DateTime started having trouble nevertheless they worked perfectly without a glitch during the DST months. The DTML methods use DateTime to build a date and later on, query a PostgreSQL table. This query involves building the date as: <dtml-call "REQUEST.set('fecha_final',_.DateTime(_.str(mes_fin)+'/'+_.str(dia_fin)+'/'+_.str(year_fin)).latestTime())"> The above code worked fine when in DST, now (not in DST) it adds a timezone like: '2003/10/28 23:59:59 US/Central' which causes a bad date external representation error coming from the DB. Previously (while in DST) where was no time zone added in the function call depicted above. The actual trouble is with DateTime working in DST periods vs and working in a non DST period. Can anyone be so kind to explain this behavior and a hint on the fix.? I have seen on the lists references to "bugs" on DateTime as old as year 2000 but no recent references to DateTime issues like thie one. Per your info, CST and CDT (American Central Standard/Daylight Time) both work ok for our purposes as we are in that same time zone here in Mexico City I am running Zope, binary release 2.6.1, upgraded to 2.6.2 on RedHat Linux 7.3 Your help and comments are greatly appreciated. I am attempting to change the base path. The user comes in on path www.xyz.com I want to change the base to www.xyz.com/test I calling a script that executed REQUEST.setVirtualPath('test',hard=0), but that didn't work. (I know that the user could come in on that path, but that's not the point. I want to know how to change the base path.) How to fix External Editor

Dear Sir/Madam I would like you show me how to fix it in Window2000. I have installed Python for Windows and it work properly (I test it with "import win32api" is OK). furthermore, I have also installed helper Application for windows2000 and configured the browser ( Action is "Open", Application use to perform Action is "C:\Python23\pythonw.exe" C:\Program Files\Plone\Zope\pwi\zopeedit.py "%1" ), Extension is ".ZOPE", file type is "application/x-zope-edit" . After I configure it already I try to click the pencil icon but it does not work. what wrong? I follow the instruction from book step by step but it still not work. Hope you can show me clearly. Hi, I have a problem with a python script that has the Manager proxy role. It creates a portal folder (Plone Folder) and then tries to modify the newly created object. The ID is passed in the 'username' parameter: portal = context.portal_url.getPortalObject() profiles = portal.profiles profiles.invokeFactory(id=username, type_name='Folder') This works just fine and as expected. Now I wouldd like to modify the folder, and am trying to get an object: profile = getattr(profiles, username) But this fails: Unauthorized: You are not allowed to access <username> in this context The script has the Manager proxy role, and I completely don't understand why even without it, I should not be allowed to obtain a reference to the folder. I would appreciate any hints. changing the realm name?

i have a zope instance for a client of mine, and log-in/authentication is handled by a standard acl_users folder in the root level. when the log-in box appears there is the realm 'zope', and i need to change this to something else. any idea how i can do this? (i have searched the zope site and this mailing list with no luck) thanks matt
