Zope + Python 2.2 on Windows

Hello: I have a situation in which I am required to set up Zope with Python + PyXML on a laptop running Windows (2000) so that a product of ours can be demonstrated in the field. This would be ALMOST no problem, except that PyXML under versions less than 2.2 of python do not have the length property on nodeLists, and this is absolutely required by our code. Is there any way to get the binary distribution of Zope for win32 to run with Python 2.2 (or 2.3)? I am having NO success getting Zope compiled in cygwin, and of course I am extremely contrained for time. Is there perhaps anyone who has done up an unoficcial Zope / Py 2.2/2.3 distribution for Win32? This is the last hoop to cross - I already got pgsql etc running the way I need them to. Epoz, epozng, htmlarea3

We now have three (or maybe four) rich widgets that attempt to replace textareas; Epoz, epozNG (a.k.a epoz), and htmlarea3. Could someone do some compare and contrast on these systems? Is epoz replacing Epoz? htmlarea3 can apparently handle multiple textareas in a form, although there is some indication that MSIE support for this is limited, in that only seven textareas can be handled in a single form. Epoz and epoz apparently cannot handle multiple textareas. If this is in fact true - could some javascript guru show how to create a form that passes the current value of a textarea into a popup epoz editor. When the popup is saved, it should place the result back into the original textarea. (It would be nicer if a formatted object could be used instead of a textarea, but I don't see how to do that in javascript). Thanks for any guidance. Jim Penny

site root lock out

While experimenting I created a site root object in an attempt to get zope to server a different directory as the root folder. The result is that I can no longer get to the real root folder in the admin pannel. Because of this it seems that I can not undo what I did. Is there any way I can get access to the real root folder again so that I can remove the site root object ? thanks -matthew

Zope re-writing URLs?

Hi I encounter a strange problem with a link in hand-coded HTML pointing at a directory in the directory tree. I allow the owner of a site to upload images to a specific directory in the tree. I created a custom page for links to "editing" pages with a link like this: <a href="/shopping/pictures/manage_main" target="_blank" title="Show pictures directory">Show pictures directory</a> When the page is rendered in either IE5, IE6 or Mozilla, the link suddenly shows as: /shopping/pictures/manage_workspace (manage_main replace by manage_workspace) The link takes the user back to the index_html in /shopping. (I think it just looks for an index_html up the tree.) But I want the user to use the management screens, so I don't need to write a custom interface for managing the images. I tried clearing the browser cache, also coded the link absolute with domain. In Safari, it works fine. No re-write, link appears as coded and works! Has somebody encountered this? Zope 2.3 on Solaris 8; Intel-box. Cheers Marc

We have a blog (similar to the guest book idea) Users post, It creating dtml documents and the index page iterates through them to give a 'visual' output. Put one custom.js in your root, and one in each folder. Use <script src="custom.js"> and Zope will traverse the tree (from the current folder) looking for the "custom.js". You could even put this in your <standard_html_header> file if you wanted. I hope this is what you are looking for... zsyncer 0.5beta error

TAL expressions within Javascipt?

I'm moving an existing web site into Zope because the primary purpose of this site is document management and I want to be able to utilize Zope for content control. But the existing site has a large number of javascripted behaviors that are conditionally enabled based upon such things as browser capabilities. In particular, the system is setup to dynamically load certain scripts if certain capabilities exist. The form is: document.write("<scr" + "ipt src='http://x.y.z/custom.js' type='text/javascript'><\/scr" + "ipt>"); I would like to be able to change the "custom.js" file on a folder by folder basis, i.e., <script type="text/javascript" tal:attributes="src here/custom.js/absolute_url"></script> ...but can't figure out the appropriate way to do so within Javascript. Hi all, I got psycopg 1.1.9 and whwenever i try to compile it , gives me following error.. "missing postgreSQL Headers" I also checked my postgres version ..it is 7.2.1 and required is 7.x.
