28 november 2006 – Infrae has just released SilvaStatic, a Silva
extension that allows users to export a static copy of content
maintained in Silva to an external website. This allows an organization
to run Silva internally to manage content, but export the content to a
simple external web server, for instance at an internet provider. The
only things the web server needs to support are the serving of static
files and FTP access so content can be uploaded.
In order to install SilvaStatic, you also need to have either wget or
httrack installed, and the ftputil python package (download it from
http://ftputil.sschwarzer.net/trac).

The Silva extension can be downloaded from:

The CMF developer community is hereby announcing the release of CMF
version 2.1.0-alpha2.
This second alpha release was cut to help release Plone 3.0-alpha. A lot
of bug fixes and features have made it into the CMF since release
2.1.0-alpha,
which has become somewhat obsolete as the basis for Plone 3.0-alpha.
What is the CMF?
The Zope Content Management Framework provides a set of services and
content objects useful for building highly dynamic, content-oriented
portal sites. The CMF provides the foundation for popular software
packages such as Plone. It is intended to be easily customizable, in
terms of both the types of content used and the policies and services
it provides.
Where do I get it?
For release files, change logs, installation instructions and more
please visit http://www.zope.org/Products/CMF/CMF-2.1.0-alpha2.
Roadmap and release information can be found at
http://www.zope.org/Products/CMF/docs/roadmap.
The CMF mailing list can be reached at the zope-cmf(a)zope.org address,
to sign up please visit http://mail.zope.org/mailman/listinfo/zope-
cmf.
Please file bug reports, feature requests or suggestions in the CMF
bug collector at http://www.zope.org/Collectors/CMF .
What has changed since the last release?
New Features
- WorkflowTool: Added the IConfigurableWorkflowTool interface.
This change includes the new 'getDefaultChain' and
'listChainOverrides'
methods and an improved 'setChainForPortalTypes' method. The
import
handler now supports the 'remove' attribute for removing
overrides.
- CMFCore.CachingPolicyManager: Implemented the old
OFS.Cache.CacheManager
API. Now objects other than CMF content or CMF templates can
have their
caching headers set by the caching policy manager with the same
fine-grained control.
- testing: Added test layers for setting up ZCML.
- CMFDefault formlib: Added zope.formlib support.
This includes some CMF specific base classes and an
'EmailLine' field.
- browser views: Added some zope.formlib based forms.
- CMFDefault utils: Added 'checkEmailAddress' function.
- Added CMFCore.FSRestMethod: ReST equivalent of FSSTXMethod.
- CMFCore.FSSTXMethod: Modernized, added tests, made customization
possible (now renders via ZPT by default, using 'main_template').
- Portal: Added 'email_charset' property.
- CMFDefault utils: Added 'makeEmail' function.
- CMFDefault.Image and CMFDefault.File: Overridden index_html
methods
add Cache Policy Manager-awareness and thus bring these
implementations
in line with CMFCore.FSFile and CMFCore.FSImage
(http://www.zope.org/Collectors/CMF/454)
Bug Fixes
- CMFCore.CachingPolicyManager: Prevent firing of caching policies
for templates (DTML or ZPT) that are rendered in-line (without a
separate request) while rendering the requested content item's
view.
- CMFDefault RegistrationTool: Fixed too restrictive email
checking.
The new 'checkEmailAddress' function is now used.
- Fixed test breakage induced by use of Z3 pagetemplates in Zope
2.10+.
- CMFDefault skins: Fixed encoding issues in welcome and
reminder emails.
'password_email' and 'registered_email' now encode their
return value
correctly, using 'email_charset' and the new 'makeEmail'
function.
Others
- The CMF now depends on Zope 2.10.1

20 november 2006 - Infrae has just released version 1.2b of Document
Library. This release adds LDAP authentication support, file system
storage based on Tramline, simplified installation with Zope Buildout,
and automated functional tests.
What is Document Library?
Document Library is a document management application intended for the
tracking of large amounts of documents in an organization. Document
Library is built with Zope3 and is open source. It is also open data:
the contents of Document Library can be harvested using the standard
OAI-PMH protocol and integrated with other applications. Integration
with the Silva CMS using this technology is provided.
New Features
* Easy installation, using Zope Buildout.
* LDAP support, based on ldappas and ldapadapter.
* Filesystem storage support, based on Tramline and hurry.file.
* A more reliable conversion between file formats, provided by the
OooConv conversion server, which now has an easy way to install too.
* Now uses zc.table (a new dependency) to draw document listing screens.
* Removed IP-based groups support. This was no longer a requirement of
the customer and a bit of an implementation liability, so instead
chose to remove a lot of code. If you do require IP based groups
support in the Document Library, please contact Infrae and tell us
about your requirements.
* LDAP authentication support.
For more information and a complete feature list see the Document
Library product page on the Infrae site:
http://www.infrae.com/products/documentlibrary

The Five team is happy to announce the release of three Five stable
releases today! Many thanks to Rocky Burt for making those releases!
What is Five
------------
Five is a Zope 2 product that allows you to integrate Zope 3
technologies into Zope 2, today. Among others, it allows you to use
Zope 3 interfaces, ZCML-based configuration, adapters, browser pages
(including skins, layers, and resources), automated add and edit forms
based on schemas, object events, as well as Zope 3-style i18n message
catalogs.
We've tried to keep the Five experience as close to Zope 3 as
possible, so this means that what you learn while using Five should
also be applicable to Zope 3, and viceversa.
More information about Five can be found on our website,
http://codespeak.net/z3/five/.
Changes
-------
* browser: processInputs now decodes strings in lists and tuples.
* Made the __call__ method of ViewMixinForAttributes have the same
signature as the original attribute. This aids some pathological
request parameter marshalling.
* Port code from Zope 3 making resource directories recursive.
Thanks to Richard Waid.
* formlib: Removed redundant subpageform.pt and pageform.pt. Added
missing error view configuration. (Five 1.4 and 1.5 only)
* Fixed #2168: Missing import (Five 1.5 only)
* site: Fixed small bug in FiveSiteManager. (issue #2198)
(Five 1.5 only)
About the Zope 3 Base
---------------------
Five is part of the *Zope 3 Base* project, which aims to offer an
approachable area for developers of Zope 3 related software. More
about the Zope 3 base and its projects can be found on the project
website, http://codespeak.net/z3/.

portability to Zope 3 in mind. Its Python core component (CalCore) can
even be used outside of Zope altogether.
For more functional and technical information, see the
CPSSharedCalendar web site:
