AdvancedQuery is a Zope product for flexible queries
against "ZCatalog" or "CatalogTool".
Queries can be arbitrarily combined with "and", "or" and "not".
All index types are almost fully supported (exception: relevance
sorting of TextIndexes).
AdvancedQuery supports efficient incremental (lazy) multi-level sorting via
FieldIndexes. This means, you can sort via e.g.
"sort_on=(('Date','desc'), 'portal_type', 'id')". For large
result sets, sorting is performed incrementally,
only as far as you access the result. This can drastically speed up
sorting time.
AdvancedQuery is especially efficient for "ManagableIndex"es
(see: <http://www.dieter.handshake.de/pyprojects/zope#ManagableIndex>).
New in version 0.3:
* uses for CMF's "CatalogTool" an index ValidityRange
(assumed to be a Managable RangeIndex) in preference of
CMF's effective and expires indexes
which can significantly improve query speed
More information and download:
<http://www.dieter.handshake.de/pyprojects/zope#AdvancedQuery>
Note: This may be the last version with its current open source
unrestricted use license. I consider whether I will expressly
forbid the use of my software by institutions of the
European Union (Councel of Ministers, Commission, Parliament, ...).
This is in protest against a recent decision of the
Councel to make software patentable. This decision
ignores a Parliament vote that pleaded to keep logic (algorithms,
business rules) un-patentable.

ManagableIndex is a flexible indexing framework.
It comes with managable field, keyword and efficient range indexes.
Via the management interface, you can for example configure
* how to combine values to be indexed from various attributes
* how to normalize terms, e.g. for case insensitive searches
* to ignore stop terms to keep your indexes small
* to convert terms into an efficient form
This is how ManagableIndex supports efficient
"DateTime" and "DateIndexes"
* how to handle acquisition and calling of values
New in version 0.5:
* "RangeIndex" now efficiently supports improper ranges,
i.e. ranges with at least one unrestricted boundary,
* a "RangeIndex" can now be used as a (partial) plugin
replacement for CMF's "effective" and "expires" indexes.
I expect that such a replacement will speed up most CMF
searches.

(PCNG)
PloneCollectorNG is a Plone-based bugtracking solution and framework.

- Issue debug tab now has a new option to remove the current issue from
the collector
(usually issues should be rejected but never removed however I added
this option on popular
demand)
- redesigned configuration UI for topic-user groups
- REQUIREMENTS: Archetypes 1.3 beta 2, no Archetypes 1.2.X support (!!!)
WARNING:
- PERFORM A FULL BACKUP FOR YOUR Data.fs ***BEFORE INSTALLING*** PCNG
Volunteers wanted:
PloneCollectorNG is fully internationalized. If you want PCNG to support
your language
that translate the catalog file (i18n folder) to your language and submit
it to me.
Note:
Any user should read doc/INSTALL.txt before the installation. Upgraders
should
reinstall the PCNG either through the quickinstall tool or through "Plone
setup".

Silva 1.0 beta 1 with Kupu support!
At long last, the Silva development team is moving towards a Silva 1.0
release. Silva is an open source content management system with a
focus on structured content and its reuse. The most important feature
of Silva 1.0 is deeply integrated support for Kupu, the WYSIWYG
through the web editor with support for Mozilla and Internet Explorer.
Silva 1.0 beta 1 ships with full documentation that is a Silva
publication in itself. When you install a new Silva root you get the
option to install the documentation as well.
Other new features are image thumbnail support and image cropping
support.
You can download Silva 1.0 beta 1 here:
http://www.zope.org/Members/infrae/Silva
The -all .tgz ships with everything needed, including Kupu.
A more complete list of changes can be found here:

Dear Zope community,
The Zope 3 development team is proud to announce the second alpha release of
Zope X3 3.0.0.
Zope X3 is the next major Zope release and has been written from scratch based
on the latest software design patterns and the experiences of Zope 2. The "X"
in the name stands for "experimental", since this release does not try to
provide any backward-compatibility to Zope 2.
Download
http://zope.org/Products/ZopeX3
Installation instructions for both Windows and Un*x/Linux are now available
in the top level README.txt of the distribution.
Changes since alpha 1
- Several packages were included in the first alpha since other code had
several dependencies on their interfaces. This code has been refactored
into sub-packages which are no longer part of the release. As a result,
this distribution has fewer packages than alpha 1. Excluded packages
include the indexing and fssync.
- Some bugs were fixed that were reported by testers. This includes problems
with the installation of a distribution.
Goals
While the first alpha release concentrated on testing our packaging tool and
putting a process for releases into place, we would like to ask anyone
to test this release a thoroughly as possible. The next release will be the
first beta (probably next week) at which time the API freezes! Even if you
are not interested in Zope you should test the building process of the
distribution, since the packaging tool might be of great interest to the
entire Python community.
Please send any bug reports and comments to zope3-dev(a)zope.org! Thank you
very much in advance for your help!
