Announcing the release of DirectoryStorage 1.0 beta 2
DirectoryStorage is a ZODB Storage that uses ordinary files and directories to
store object state - one file per object revision.
This release fixes a bug found during code review. This bug can cause data
loss, although it should be hard to hit. I am not aware of anyone affected by
this bug, but all DirectoryStorage users are encouraged to upgrade to 1.0
beta 2 as soon as is convenient.

Hi everybody,
I'm pleased to announce that NeoPortal Content Pak 0.9a2 is now
available.
Most notable in this new version is a couple of new content types plus a
powerful user management tool. I've been dying for a user management
tool and finally wrote one up during X-mas holidays :-)
To name a few new goodies:
(i) **NeoPortal User Manager Tool** has been added. With this tool,
managers can search for users, edit their properties, disable their
accounts or even delete their accounts, etc. In a word, managers can do
whatever they can with portal members. Just visit
'your_portal_url/neoportal_usermanager' and everything will be
self-explanatory.
(i) All content types can now render 'description' values as they would
'text' : 'getRenderedNeoPortalContentDescription' method added. Visit
http://www.zoper.net/Downloads to see what it can do.
(i) New Content Type 'NeoPortal Ordered Folder' added: direct descendent
of 'NeoPortal Element Container' that supports batch creation of
external file/image/media elements ( 'NeoPortal Article' now inherits
from 'NeoPortal Ordered Folder' ). You can create your photo album, file
archive, document library in a few seconds with this type of folder.
(i) 'NeoPortal External Image/Media' and their 'Element(s)' counterparts
added: all support batch creation via 'NeoPortal Ordered Folder'
(i) 'NeoPortalExternalFile/NeoPortalExternalAccessTool' now checks
'external_file_bases' property in the 'neoportal_properties' tool first
(i) Better handling of i18n
This version of **NeoPortal Content Pak** requires **NeoPortal Library
0.9a2 or higher**, which fixes all the outstanding bugs in **NeoPortal
Content Pak**.
You may upgrade your previous version of **NeoPortal Content Pak**
simply by re-running the External Method you used for installing the
product. Read the 'UPGRADE.txt' for more info.
A lot has changed in NeoPortal Content Pak 0.9a2. Any feedback is
welcome ;-)

Enjoy! (8)
p.s. For those who may wonder what this product is all about...
NeoPortal Content Pak is a collection of new ( and a bit more powerful )
content types and tools for CMFPlone sites. If you don't use CMFPlone,
skip this product ;-)
p.s.2 This version of NeoPortal Content Pak has been tested with Plone
RC1.

Hi everybody,
I'm pleased to announce that NeoPortal Library 0.9a2 is now available.
This new version fixes a number of bugs and adds a few new features.
By upgrading your NeoPortal Library, you can fix most outstanding bugs
in NeoBoard and NeoPortal Content Pak.
To name a few most notable new features:
(i) All NeoPortal Types inherit getNeoPortalUserAcceptLanguage,
isContentLanguageAcceptable methods which returns, respectively,
'http_accept_language' and a boolean value to tell if content's
'Language()' is in one of the languages specified
'http_accept_language'. NeoPortal object embedding conflicts with
just-in-time i18n concept of ZPT have been resolved.
(i) All NeoPortl Types now may return teh rendered version of
'description' property values as they would their 'text' values. Visit
'Downloads' section at <a
href="http://www.zoper.net/Downloads">http://www.zoper.net</a> to see
what it can do ;-)
(i) A bit more precise handling of paragraphs by flattening basic STX
docs
(i) NeoPortalSTDocument's 'doc_literal' and 'doc_underline' ( regex )
cleaned up not to intefere with object embedding/inline comment markers
This version fixes most of the notable bugs in **NeoBoard** and
**NeoPortal Content Pak**. Note that NeoPortal Library is the base on
which NeoBoard and NeoPortal Content Pak operate. Even if your NeoBoard
remains the same, for example, you may upgrade its features by upgrading
your NeoPortal Library product.
You may also download the latest version of NeoBoard from CVS: visit <a
href="http://www.zoper.net/Downloads">http://www.zoper.net/Downloads</a>
and read the instructions.

RemoteUserFolder public release
Created by djay on 2002/12/22.
RemoteUserFolder allows authentication to be handled by an external
webserver while roles and permissions are still administered within Zope.
Works great with transparent IIS windows authentication.
http://www.zope.org/Members/djay/RemoteUserFolder
Ok, so we should have made this announcement at the same time as the
Zope.org one, but better late than never.
If you're stuck with serving Zope from behind IIS for some reason, but
can't stand the ugly http://iis.server/Scripts/Zope.pcgi/some/zope/doc
urls, not to mention the lame performance, we have something for you.
Come check the new and improved ASP404 script here:

Hi everybody,
Formulator 1.3.1 has been released. This is mainly a bugfix release, with
some features added to the XML serialization as well. Many thanks
to Clemens Klein-Robbenhaar for the fixes.
You can find Formulator as well as more information here:
http://www.zope.org/Members/faassen/Formulator

Martijn
Hi there,
I've just released a new version of ParsedXML. You can find it
here:
http://www.zope.org/Members/faassen/ParsedXML
This is a bugfix release. A memory leak has been plugged, ParsedXML should
play a bit more nicely with Zope Find, and ParsedXML now imports Expat
from xml.parsers.expat, which is the recommended way.
Regards,
Martijn
As Christmas draws closer, we are proud to announce the first Release
Candidate for Plone. If we get positive feedback from this release and
migrations are smooth - this will be 1.0!
Get the latest Plone from http://plone.org/download and help us locate any
remaining bugs.
What is Plone?
Plone is a Content Management System based on Zope Corporation's Content
Management Framework. It combines a stable base with an attractive,
lightweight and easy-to-use User Interface, and has quickly become one of
the leading Open Source Content Management Systems.
What are the differences between the betas and RC1?
- Plone comes with an i18n folder with approximately 20 languages (please
co-ordinate with the "i18n effort":/development/i18n to add your language).
These are pre-installed in the Windows installer package.
- Xopus was removed (will possibly be available as an add-on later); we
have kept XSDHTMLEditor but will be removing it as 1.1 comes and we can
move it to an add-on.
- Lots of bug fixes. Small feature enhancements (filename staying in form
if validation fails) and usability issues addressed.
- migration machinery has been updated and hopefully you should have no
problems migrating from any beta release to RC1. - RC1 is being run on
plone.org with great results.
Near future
Plone is gathering a healthy community around it. The focus in the near
future will be documentation and a stable 1.0 release. Plone is already
being used all over the world for many different purposes. Please mail us
at plone-users(a)lists.sourceforge.net about your experiences. We are now
preparing the final announcements, finishing touches and installer
integration, and watching the issue collector at http://plone.org/collector
for any issues reported.
To upgrade
- Do a full backup (Both the products dir and Data.fs).
- Delete the CMFPlone directory and replace with the new one.
- Enter your Plone site via the ZMI (http://myplonesite:8080/manage).
- Add a Plone Migration tool if there isn't one displayed already - the
name should be portal_migration (Add a Plone Tool -> Migration Tool).
- Enter the portal_migration tool and double check that the version
displayed is correct (You can override the settings if you know that you
have a different version).
- Click the "Click here to migrate" link.
- Voilá - your Plone site should be up to date. Please report any errors to
us.
Download and test
Download Plone RC1 from http://plone.org/download and help us find any
remaining bugs. The final release will hopefully be out by the end of this
month, or early next month. We wish everybody a nice holiday, and look
forward to making year 2003 the Year of Plone. :)
