Gang,
Zope 2.0.1 has been released and is now up on the new portal site (which as
you'll see in a site note is back on port 80). I would strongly (very very
strongly) recommend that anyone who is using 2.0.0 upgrade immediately, as
this changes nothing except to fix the outstanding security hole discovered
yesterday. This is critical if you are using local roles. If you are
tracking CVS, then the change was committed last night, and you should be up
to date with that.
You can find the new release at:

I have done a quick hack N kludge to the etcuserFolder product
to add support for PAM authentication via the PyPam module.
for those that would like it, I have made it available at
http://www.zope.org:18200/Members/bwarff
this first draft acts in the same way as etcUserFolder, with
a flat text file that lists the user accounts which PAM will try
and authenticate.
Im hoping to have a more 'zopeified' version with web based account
managment available soon.
Rod.

about selection by October 22.
For more information, see the official call for papers:

(And sorry for the broad spamming.)
Digital Creations is pleased to announce the new Zope.org site.
http://www.zope.org/
This site showcases Zope's advanced features, and provides a portal for
Zope community members to share resources.
* What's new about this site?
The new site is focused on providing a framework for the Zope community
to develop on-line Zope resources. Using Zope itself community members
can experiment and create their own resources on Zope.org, much as
Python hackers create their own content on the Python Starship site. To
participate, you can create a membership for yourself which provides you
with an area to create objects, and the ability to personalize the site.
The new Zope.org site is running Zope 2 and makes heavy use of the
Portal Toolkit, the Catalog and ZClasses.
* What's Membership all about?
Membership allows you to create an account on Zope.org. Then you can
build and manage your own Zope objects. You can upload your contributed
software, and author your own documents on-line.
If you can't install Zope locally this is a great way to try it out. If
you are a Zope guru an account allows you to share you information
efficiently with the Zope community. Everything you create can be woven
into the fabric of the site through the magic of the catalog. For
example, the Zope How-To page is built from a search of all public
Zope.org Member How-To's.
Membership also allows you to find out about what's happened on the site
since you last visited. For example you can search for all the New Item
objects that have changed since you were last at the site.
* Is the site useful if you don't want to be a Member?
Yes, the main feature of the new site for non-members is searchability
and access to member content. Wondering about DTML syntax, just type
"getitem" into the search form and find the right pages of the DTML
Guide, and any relevant user contributed How-Tos.
* What's changed since the site went beta?
Now the site has over 600 Members. Site is a lot more solid. We've
implemented lots of small fixes and add a lot of content.
* What should I do if I find something broken or have suggestions?
Send them to webmaster(a)zope.org. We have lots of plans to improve the
site further, and would like to hear your ideas too.
Give the new site a whirl and have fun!
-Amos
P.S. The old Zope.org site is still available on port 8080.
