LocalFS v0.1.7 released

I've released LocalFS v0.1.7. It hasn't been tested extensively so I've left the bits for v0.1.6 up on the site. [ANNOUNCE] Zope 2.1.6 released...

Hi all, Zope 2.1.6 has been released - you can download it from Zope.org: http://www.zope.org/Products/Zope/2.1.6/ This release fixes a few issues with Friday's 2.1.5 security update release: o Some bits from the currently development branch got into the 2.1.x release branch, causing problems for folks using certain database adapters - this has been fixed. o A fix to Acquisition that happened in 2.1.5 caused a problem with ZClasses, since some of the code in Factory.py previously worked around the problem and now no longer needed to. This has been fixed in 2.1.6. Users of the SiteAccess product should note that the security changes in 2.1.5 necessarily require a change to the SiteAccess product - as he noted in a previous email to the zope list, Evan will be releasing an updated SiteAccess shortly. Also, the XMLDocument product has a buglet that was made effective by a fix to a bug in Acquisition. Prior to 2.1.5, there were cases where acquisition-wrapped objects sometimes didn't have their full acquisition context. This was fixed in 2.1.5. Unfortunately, some applications may depend on the old incomplete wrapping. :( Currently, when you add an XML document, you will get a WrongDocumentException. This can be fixed by changing: if document and ownerDocument and document != ownerDocument: to: if (document and ownerDocument and getattr(document, 'aq_base', document) is not getattr(ownerDocument, 'aq_base', ownerDocument) ): in the appendChild method in class Node in file Node.py. A new rev of XMLDocument containing this fix will be available soon. Note that we have also posted "diff" updates as .tgz files that will let you easily upgrade an existing 2.1.x site. These updates are available for those currently using the 2.1.x source release or the 2.1.x binary releases for either solaris or linux. Zope 2.1.5 release and *security update*

Hi all, Zope 2.1.5 has been released - you can download it from the usual place on Zope.org: http://www.zope.org/Products/Zope/2.1.5/ This release fixes two fairly important security issues that have recently come to our attention: o It was possible for a Zope user with a fair amount of Zope zen and permission to create DTML documents and Folders to circumvent the security machinery within DTML in certain situations, possibly giving the user the ability to use resources that he wouldn't otherwise be able to access via DTML. o It also came to our attention that the DTML code in ZSQLMethod objects was not subject to the same security constraints as the DTML code in DTMLMethods and DTML Documents. The 2.1.5 release fixes both of these issues and we highly recommend that you upgrade, especially if you use Zope for sites that allow untrusted users to create Folders and DTML Documents or DTML Methods. The release also includes a number of recent bug fixes, including the problem in TimeStamp objects that caused the bobobase_modification_time() of Zope objects to appear to be a day behind. Note that this release contains two binary changes, so those running Zope from the source release will need to rebuild the Zope extensions after applying the update. The fixes are also available in CVS and binaries will need to be rebuilt after the update for those of you using CVS. Note that with the 2.1.5 release we will also be releasing "diff" updates as .tgz files that will let you easily upgrade an existing 2.1.x site. New LocalFS Release

Version 0.1.6 of LocalFS is out. I'm calling this one the Ides of March release. :) New in v0.1.6: - Fixed a bug with filtering in directory browse view. - Fixed bogus text/html content-type on non-HTML files. - Use a more aggressive search to determine whether files are binary or text. This causes directory browsing to take a bit longer but hopefully prevents file corruption problems. - Added a Properties tab which allows specifying custom properties. - Improved the formatting of directory browse view again with tables. - Convert .xml files to XMLDocument objects if the XMLDocument product is installed. - Convert .stx files to StructuredDocument objects if the StructuredDocument product is installed. In 0.1.7 I'm adding fully-customizable mapping of file extensions to content-types, Zope object classes, and icons in the directory browse view. Hopefully that should be out pretty soon as well. --jfarr

load_site v1.3, with a wxPython-based GUI interface

load_site is a utility for uploading files to Zope using HTTP (Zpublisher Client now, xmlrpc in the future). load_site enhanced is my extension of the version included with Zope. Version 1.3, in addition to fixing a couple of small bugs, has a new wxPython-based GUI frontend. Now you can upload files to Zope using a GUI interface in either Win32 or Unix while still using all of load_site's features: 1. Automatically remove your page's header/footer and replace it with <dtml-var standard_html_header/footer> and set the title property for HTML files 2. Create index_html files that redirect to your index.html files 3. DTMLTemplate product 0.2.0 released

I've just released my first development version of DTMLTemplates. You can find the distribution at: http://www.zope.org/Members/halazar/Products/DTMLTemplate DTML Templates are documents that allow blocks of text to be named and made available to other documents. The basic building block of templates is the DTML "block" tag, which can also be used with other DTML document types. Templates export their blocks. Another new tag, the "suppress" tag, allows block definition without rendering. Here are several nice features of blocks and templates that I believe will greatly benefit the Zope community (several of these items have come up recently in Zope email discussions): * defines libraries of methods in one file, * allows structured text formatting in a DTML document, * allows pieces of multiple documents to be combined, * allows complex web designs created with HTML editors to be used as templates, * provides template elements that encourage proper nesting of markup tags. In short, I think that Templates offer great promise for the Zope and Zope developers. This release is a very early one, though. A construct as fundamental as this one may need both syntactic and structural tweaks to function in the most useful way, and only with discussion can we figure that way out.
