Zope Corporation has established a mailing list to specifically discuss issues which arise when integrating Zope and various relational datbases -- zope-db(a)zope.org. Any posting from "how do I?" to "but..." and the ever-favorite "help with ...!" is fair game. [Ann] copyPropertySheet

Zope's support for PropertySheets is very weak. They cannot be renamed or copied. They can be exported but only imported if they are empty. The reason for these restrictions: The property values are not stored in the sheet but in the associated v_self (value self). The persistence mechanism, on with copying, renaming and export is based, cannot find them in the current implementation. copyPropertySheet uses the specific PropertySheet interface to handle property values correctly. You can use it to copy a PropertySheet sheet into a container container and optionally give it a different id. sheet and container can be either strings or objects. Fixed problem with PatchKit

I have just fixed a bug in my PatchKit product which was preventing management access to all TTW (ZClass) Products in the Control Panel. The bug was in the Product Package patch, which was incorrectly trying to add itself to TTW Products. Please go to http://www.zope/org/Members/haqa/PatchKit to download the latest version. dtml-sendmail and transactions: Request For Comments

A new fishbowl proposal http://dev.zope.org/Wikis/DevSite/Proposals/TransactionalEmail Zope's dtml-sendmail tag is not integrated into the transaction system. This leads to two problems: o Duplicate copies of each email will be sent if a request has to be retried due to a conflict error. o Emails can be sent even if a request never completes, due to an error rendering the tail of the page, or a problem detected at transaction commit. DCOracle2 Beta 5

DCORACLE2 DCOracle2 is Zope Corporation's second generation of its python bindings for Oracle. DCOracle2 is written to use the OCI 8 API, not the OCI 7 API that DCOracle uses, giving DCOracle2 compatibility with more advanced features in newer generations of the Oracle software. RELEASE DCOracle2 Beta 5 is now released, available at http://www.zope.org/Members/matt/dco2 in ZIP and tar.gz formats. Beta 5 is a unified source/binary distribution; the 'install.py' script will attempt to copy the proper binary in place for execution on your system. CONTENTS o DCOracle2 source o DCOracle2 binaries for Oracle 8i (Windows, Solaris, Linux) o ZOracleDA (the Zope Database Adapter) o DCOracleStorage (an Oracle Storage for Zope) INSTALLATION After unpacking, either run 'install.py' to copy an appropriate binary file from the binaries directory to the DCOracle2 directory, or type 'make' to attempt to make a new binary (unix only). For use as ZOracleDA, copy the DCO2 directory to {ZOPE ROOT}/lib/python/Products/ZOracleDA (renaming the directory from DCO2 to ZOracleDA). AVAILABILITY DCOracle2 is available from http://www.zope.org/Members/matt/dco2 immediately. ATTN: Zope Security Alert

A new Zope hotfix has been issued which addresses an important security issue that affects Zope version 2.3.3, all Zope 2.4.0 alpha and beta releases, as well as the final release of Zope 2.4.0. We *highly* recommend that any Zope site running Zope 2.3.3, Zope 2.4.0 final or any alpha or beta version of 2.4.0 have this hotfix product installed to mitigate the issue. Zope 2.4.1 will contain a fix for the issue, at which time the hotfix can be removed. Zope versions prior to 2.3.3 are not affected by this issue.
