ANN: PloneCollectorNG 1.1.0 beta 1 released

I am pleased to announce the FINAL release of PloneCollectorNG 1.1.0 beta 1(PCNG) PCNG is a bugtracking system for Plone. It is based on the concepts and ideas of CMFCollector and CMFCollectorNG but it is a complete re-write. PCNG is a very generic and open framework (you can configure nearly everything TTW). This release REQUIRES Archetypes AT 1.3 (currently unreleased and only available as CVS checkout Archetypes/HEAD). Older Archetypes versions (including 1.2.1) WILL NOT WORK. This major step was necessary because a lot Archetypes hacks in PCNG 1.0.0 were backported to Archetypes CVS/HEAD. This release also breaks compatibility with portal_forms. CMFFormController is now mandatory. There is a risk that this release might break an existing PCNG instance. So BACKUP YOUR DATA first. The goal for 1.1.0 final is to be compatible with exisitings installations so please let me know if there are any problems. Changes since 1.0.0: - Archetypes 1.3 integration (AT 1.3/CVS HEAD is now mandatory !!!) - !SchemaEditor: moved significant parts of the code into Archetypes core, API cleanup, UI cleanup, updated widgets, several fixes and additional checks - Issue references: now using native extende references support of Archetypes. References are now always show in "view" mode. The dedicated references view has been redesigned - Collector maintenance tab: new view to find zombie tickets - Dropped compatibility with portal_forms. Using !CMFFormController is now mandatory. - minor UI fixes for Plone 2 RC2 - Migration script now handles the migration of references *within* a tracker (no cross references to issues in other trackers) - PDF generation is now i18n-aware - new collector maintenance option to recreate Archetypes UIDs for imported issues - searches can be saved - License changed to be GPL-compatible Volunteers wanted: PloneCollectorNG is fully internationalized. If you want PCNG to support your language that translate the catalog file (i18n folder) to your language and submit it to me. ANN: TextIndexNG-2.04 released (IMPORTANT for 2.03 users)

I have just released TextIndexNG 2.04 which fixes a critical problem in the ranking code which came up with some changes introduced in V 2.03 which has been released last week). V 2.03 user should upgrade to 2.04 as soon as possible. V 2.02 users are not affected but should upgrade to V 2.04 if possible to benefit from the changes in the reindexing code. Zope3 for Zope2 developers tutorial

Hello everyone, The Zope3 Rheinland products sprint has come to its end. We haven't produced any exciting code, especially not for Zope3 core, but if I may speak for everybody, the learning experience was quite intense. Instead of using the tutorial chapter 1 slides by ZC, I wrote my own set of slides. It is adressed to the Zope2 and/or CMF programmer. Thus, it is more compact at most places because quite a few concepts don't have to be repeated. I tried to focuses more on the "how", actually saying a few more words here and there where I expected Zope 2 developers to stumble whereas it would seem rather logical to do for the "untouched" pythonic mind. Still, many parts, above all the examples, are based on ZC's slides, and obviously I'm not claiming to be genuine here. If you would like to look at the slides and give me feedback, I'd be more than happy to update them. ANN: PloneLocalFolderNG 0.1 released

PloneLocalFolderNG is a LocalFS-like implementation for Plone. It mounts a local filesystem directory as folder into a Plone site. The implementation is based on Archetypes and hopefully much cleaner and painless than LocalFS. Changes since 1.0 RC1: - minor UI cleanup Requirements: - Plone 2.0 (Plone 1.X untested) - Archetypes 1.0.1 (AT 1.2 is *not* supported yet; AT 1.2. support will be added in PCNG 1.0.1 and should be available with the final release of Plone 2.0) ATTENTION: If you upgrade from an earlier release of PCNG you should re-install the product using the Add/Remove products in the Plone setup. ATTENTION TO USERS of Plone 2.0 beta 3: portal_workflow has been removed in Plone 2b3 from the action provider list. This is a *big problem* and will be fixed in the next Plone release.
