Release of RevisionManager 1.1 Release Candidate

Hello everybody, I am proud to release RevisionManager 1.1 as a release candidate. RevisionManager is a CVS frontend product for Zope. It brings the power of revision controlling to the ZODB. Version 1.1 adds a great deal to the usability of the product. I admit that RevisionManager 1.0.X had a few design problems, especially when it came it large amounts of objects/files that were managed in a CVS module. So everybody who tried RevisionManager and abandoned it because of that might want to look into it again. Here are the most important changes since 1.0.X: * Instead of presenting long unhandy lists (unhandy even though some were batched), one can now walk through object trees, seeing only the information one wants to see. * When running standard cvs actions on objects, one has to explicitly select the objects (or their parent folder) on which the action is supposed to work. * RevisionManager now automatically recognizes if a module already exists or not. * CVS variable expansion in the form of $...$ is now written back to the objects. RevisionManager has only been tested on Linux, but it should run on all Unices. I have also heard that some people are trying to run it on Windows. If you should have success with this or might be able to supply patches, I would love to hear about it. [ANN] TextIndexNG 1.09 released

I am pleased to announce the release of TextIndexNG 1.09 TextIndexNG is a new pluggable index for the ZCatalog and is the most feature complete solution for fulltext inexing under Zope. TextIndexNG enhances the fulltext indexing capabilities of Zope by providing the following features: * support for document converters (HTML, PDF, WinWord, PowerPoint, Postscript). Custom converters can be easily added * stemmer support for 12 languages * optional support for right truncation * similarity search (soundex, metaphone support) (for English) * NEAR search * phrase search * pluggable query parsers (two parsers included) * stop words support * new test tab for interactive testing * faster than Zopes old TextIndex * full unicode support (new) * normalization support (new) * new similarity algorithm: double metaphone (new) * new TXNGSplitter * new vocabulary browser Changes since 1.08: * apply_index() now uses the default encoding choosen for a TextIndexNG instead of iso-8859-15 (thanks to Myrosav Opyr) * lexicons and storages now used IITreeSets? instead of IISet?. This should reduce memory consumption of TextIndexNG instances. Existing instances running TextIndexNG should be reindexed. * getEntryForObject() now returns a sequence of all index worde instead of "XXX distinct words" (standard behaviour of all Zope indexes). * words removed from a reindexed documents were not properly removed for the word-doc storage (means you could search for removed words and got hits although the words was no longer inside the document). Initial release of RSessionDA

Announcing the initial release of RSessionDA. RSessionDA provides Zope objects for interacting with R <http://www.r-project.org>, an open-source language for statistical computing and graphics. These objects permit evaluation of functions in the R language using information in Zope. R data objects, graphics files, printed output, script transcripts, and data files can be returned to Zope for display. These tools make it easy to create web applications that include advanced statistical functionality. RSessionDA is built on RSOAP package, which provides access to R via the SOAP <http://www.w3.org/TR/SOAP/"> communications protocol. This allows Zope to access multiple independent R sessions running (if desired) on a separate compute server. OOPServer 0.1 Released

This is the 0.1 release of OOPServer. It is a 100% Python solution for developing customised document management systems. It uses Zope as web application server. It includes an Upload-Client for integrating office or other software installed at the client. Up to now the target group are developers. It can be viewed as an example of how you can program Python products with Zope. The implementation of OOPServer is 100% Python and avoids DTML, ZPT and Acquisition.
