[ANN] TextIndexNG 3.1.2 released

I am pleased to announce the release of TextIndexNG V 3.1.2. TextIndexNG V 3 is a complete new implementation based on Zope 3 technologies and can be used both in Zope 2.8 or in Zope 3. What's new? - multi-field indexing and query support - multi-lingual support - configurable converters (through ZCML) - new indexing API (allowing you to hook your custom content types with TextIndexNG through Zope 3 adapters). Changes in V 3.1.2: - Plone adapters use the value returned from Language() to provide better support for multilingual content - removed 'use_converters' indexer property - new "Adapters" tab (works only with Zope 2.9 and will raise an exception on Zope 2.8) - disabled Plone adapters by default to make TextIndexNG3 running on a bare Zope installation (Note for Plone users: you need to uncomment all registrations in TextIndexNG3/adapters/configure.zcml) Requirements: - Zope 2.8+, Zope 3.1+ Download: http://sf.net/projects/textindexng Project page: http://opensource.zopyx.biz/OpenSource/TextIndexNG3 For installation and documentation issues refer to doc/README.txt from the archive. It's basically the same procedure as with former versions except you *need* to recompile the extension modules. [Ann] DigestAuth[entication]

DigestAuth provides HTTP Digest Authentication (RFC 2617) for Zope. More precisely, it provides a Digest Authentication Crumbler which works similar to Shane's CookieCrumbler: it turns HTTP digest authentication info provided by the client into HTTP basic authentication info and thereby allows to use user folders expecting basic authentication with the much more secure digest authentication. Digest authentication (at least the implemented crumbler) requires that the password is available in cleartext. It must not be encrypted. I am pleased to announce the release of PloneCollectorNG 1.2.8. This release introduces compatibility with Plone 2.1.1. Changes since 1.2.7: - runs with Plone 2.1 and *requires* Plone 2.1 - TextIndexNG 2 or 3 must be installed - no further support for ZCTextIndex - using the CSS resource registry - no further functional or UI changes You can download PloneCollectorNG from <http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=55262&package_id=9605…> V 1.2.8 only works with Plone 2.1 or higher. Plone 2.0 will no longer be supported (stick with V 1.2.7 when using Plone 2.0). Zwiki 0.48 released, news

Zwiki is a powerful, easy to use and administer, GPL wiki engine for Zope 2. It works in both standard Zope and CMF/Plone. Version 0.48 has been released at http://zwiki.org . More useful urls are at the end of this message. Very quiet month in Zwiki-land; I've been paying the bills. Thanks to Stefan Rank, Frank Laurijssens, and especially Encople Degoute for keeping things moving in a good direction! Short tutorial on I18n with Five

I'm happy to announce that I've finally managed to document the internationalization (i18n) features that Five has brought to the Zope 2 world since version 1.1: http://worldcookery.com/files/fivei18n This short tutorial compares current Zope-2-based solutions to the i18n problem with the Zope 3 i18n framework. It also gives a few pointers on how to use the latter in Zope 2 applications through the means of Five. It is not a full-blown tutorial and it expects the reader to be quite familiar with i18n-aware software development in Zope already. Target audience is mostly people switching over their Zope 2 products to Zope 3 technology which i18n is a part of. The tutorial also serves as a documentation of a new Zope 2 core feature because Five 1.3 is included in Zope 2.9 which is thus the first Zope 2 version to come with built-in i18n support!
