Public CVS unavailable from 2:00 PM EST today - CVS migration

We're on track to migrate our public CVS to the new server. This means the public repository will be unavailable from 2:00 PM Eastern Standard Time until around 6:00 PM. Note well that when it's back, your old checkouts will *not* work with the new repository layout. You'll have to do new checkouts to syncronize with the new repository. Internal server problems prevent todays scheduled CVS migration

Due to a failure on the server hosting the internal CVS, i'm sorry to say i'm going to have to defer today's CVS migration. I'm going to aim for 2:00 Monday, July 16, so we'll be able to attend to the shakeout. I'm sorry about the disrupted schedule - there's always a chance something beyond our control will happen. CVS Migration Reminder

This is a reminder about the impending changeover of the Zope public CVS repository, tomorrow, July 12, 2001, from 2:00 to 6:00 PM EST. During the changeover access to all sections of the repository will be disabled - including eg the CMF and StandaloneZODB sections, as well as the Zope2 section. When the repository comes back, the old Zope2 section will be deprecated - it will remain around, but will not track ongoing zope development. Development will instead be applied to a top level 'Zope' module. Once we've established that the module is all ok, and word has propagated, we will be moving the Zope2 section out of the way, to reduce mistaken use of it as the current version. For those of you following development via CVS, you should switch over to a checkout of the new Zope module instead of your current Zope2 checkouts. Such a checkout will look, after tomorrow, like:: cvs -d :pserver:anonymous@cvs.zope.org:/cvs-repository checkout Zope (For more complete instructions, see http://www.zope.org/Resources/CVS_info#publiccvs - we'll be updating them once we make the changeover.) Formulator 1.0 released

Hi everybody, I've just released Formulator 1.0. It's mostly a bugfix release. While this is a stable release, development has certainly not stopped. CMFOptions 1.11 release

CMF Options 1.11 is released. It includes some bug fixes, (mostly minor), and upgrades the email notification feature for the Blark Weblog. CMFOptions adds three new content objects to the CMF: Images and Files that are stored in the filesystem rather than in the ZODB, and a Weblog type called Blark. Blark is a weblog, similar to Slashdot or Squishdot, but tailored for the CMF. Substantial CVS Repository Upheaval, this Thursday, July 12!

We're in the process of reforming our CVS repository, and aim to make a significant change this thursday, July 12th. This change will invalidate existing checkouts of Zope and StandaloneZODB - you'll have to do new checkouts to continue to track new checkins. We intend to do the changeover the afternoon of the 12th, from 2:00 to 6:00 US Eastern Standard Time, during which the repository will not be available. The reformulation is part of general cleanup, as we relocate the repository and prepare to enable granting of checkin privileges to select people outside of Digital Creations. Please let me know ASAP if you forsee having any serious problems in dealing with this changeover. [Ann] Mirrowing Folder: mirrows a subfolder recursively onto another subfolder during traversal

Sometimes you have a Web application in several variants. A prominent example is the same application for different languages. In such a case, you will want to separate the common parts out and maintain them just once. Nevertheless, the variant parts should be able to reference the common parts as if they had not been factored out. This situation is the main use case for Mirrowing Folder. A mirrowing folder is a folder that is able to map one subfolder into each of its other subfolders. Under the assumption that all subfolders have essentially the same structure, the subfolders of the mirrowed folder are recursively mapped during traversal onto the corresponding subfolders in the folder selected by the request URL. Content there can access the mirrowed objects (almost) as if they were physically located beside them. Mirrowing Folder is similar to Transparent Folder but what becomes visible depends on the request URL. Therefore, name clashes are less of a problem.
