Nuxeo releases CourierCPS, the generic solution for mail management in CPS 3 Nuxeo releases CourierCPS, the mail management solution for Collaborative Portal Server 3 (CPS3). This software module allows organisations to dematerialize from end to end the processing chain for incoming and outgoing mail. CourierCPS has been developped by Nuxeo within a contract for the French Ministry of Interior, of Internal Security and Local Rights (MISILL), in partnership with Capgemini. This is one of the first projects dealing with administrative procedures dematerialization thoroughly built on Zope and CPS. CourierCPS comes from a development project for the General Directorate for Local Authorities (DGCL), and aims at being extended to the Secretariat-General and the other directorates inside the Ministry. The goal is to provide the civil servants with a reliable and user-friendly mail management service which will allow them to reply to the incoming mail efficiently. Optimizing the steering of mail responses (improving response delays, access to a knowledge base...) gives the Ministry an important leverage for improving the quality of its relationship with its administrates. According to Emmanuel Marcovitch, project manager at the Information and Communication Systems Directorate (DSIC), "the use of CPS in general, and of CourierCPS in particular, is part of a global modernization endeavour. We increase information sharing and exchange, using collaborative tools tailored to our business". CourierCPS illustrates perfectly pouring back a software module developped for a major account to the Open Source community. The module has been subjected to a significant generization processe before it was released to the community, so that they will benefit from a real packaged software and not the offspring of a specific project. "We want to make it clear that the developments carried out by Nuxeo and published under the GPL are all subjected to a packaging and generization process. We publish only reusable components and not custom developments", says Stéfane Fermigier, Nuxeo's CEO. This process of incorporating CourierCPS into the generic CPS code base guarantees the module's perenity and evolutivity. The design of business solutions for the administration through Open Source software helps mutualize knowledge and know-hows. Using Open Source software within process dematerialization projects helps the Electronic Administration grow faster, while at the same time saving on costs. "The ADELE gouvernment programme is partly dedicated to favoring development mutualisation. A collaborative platform that will permit to capitalize on e-government software will hence be created. CourierCPS is an example of what can be expected in terms of best practices for software components mutualization and reuse", says Jean-Paul Degorce-Dumas, in charge of the resource center at the Agency for the Development of Electronic Administration (ADAE). The Electronic Administration is playing the Open Source card: new developments carried out for one administration, after generization and publication under the GPL - the license recommended by ADAE for developments financed by the Administration - are used by the other ones. Training Course Announcement Zope Corporation will hold the third session of 2004 this June 21 through the 24 at our Fredericksburg, VA headquarters. This four day course will familiarize students with Zope software from introductory through advanced topics. We will demonstrate the flexibility and effectiveness of Zope as an Open Source web development and content management environment. Announce: Reusable Zope Public License 2.1

We have updated the Zope Public License (ZPL) to revision 2.1. ZPL 2.1 is reusable. It supports having a consistent license for Zope and third-party products without requiring 3rd-party developers to assign copyright to Zope Corporation. It is important that add-on products for Zope be released under the ZPL. Why? Two reasons: * The ZPL is a flexible license that supports both commercial and non-commercial use of the software. * If Zope add-on products are released under the ZPL, then users of Zope and the add-on products only have one license to worry about. Zope Corporation is pleased to announce the release of version 1.4.4 of the Zope Content Management Framework (CMF). This release consists primarily of bug fixes for version 1.4, released in April, 2003, and closes a potential e-mail header injection vulnerability. All users of earlier CMF versions which surface through-the-web registration to the public web should upgrade to version 1.4.4. What is the CMF? The Zope Content Management Framework provides a set of services and content objects useful for building highly dynamic, content-oriented portal sites. Plone 2.0.2 released

Plone 2.0.2 has been released. This release fixes a few bugs and a potential mail header vulnerability, and includes some usability enhancements. This is a highly recommended upgrade. Just before 2.0.1 was on the verge of being released, a potential security problem with the 'Send To' functionality was discoved, and we chose to withdraw 2.0.1 to fix the bug, and release 2.0.2 instead. See separate security announcement: http://plone.org/newsitems/plone-2.0-security Please update your servers to 2.0.2 or apply the simple fix included. Plone 1.0.x sites are not affected. Download Plone 2.0.2 from the download pages: http://plone.org/downloads Plone 2.0.2 - Hicks - Changed since 2.0 - Added the 'listingNext' and 'listingPrevious' class for the batch navigator. The old span.next/previous will still work visually at least until 2.1 comes out, but are deprecated. Please update any batch listings to the new format. (limi) - Added a email address validator to the Plone tool and validate the email addresses for the send to feature, fix for http://plone.org/collector/2975 (tiran) - Some templates were broken with Zope 2.6. Fixed by adding a surrounding metal:block with i18n:domain='plone' around colophon and footer. Since it's pretty much impossible to get the correct URL to the current page once you're inside CMF, the base tag and Zope and a VHM, I added this convenience variable. For those who are curious, here's how it looks: 'current_page_url request/VIRTUAL_URL|string:${request/SERVER_URL}${request/PATH_TRANSLATED}' Easy, eh? Updated the Plone templates to use this variable instead. Use this if you need a variable to use with HTML anchors, it will give you the actual URL that is currently being displayed in your browser. (limi) - Default text on member pages are now disabled, since it just pollutes the search results. You can insert the default text in 'homePageText.pt' like before, the only difference is that it's disabled by default, and uses Plone's built-in mechanism to show relevant help text if you're the owner of the document instead. (limi) - Added scoring details + i18n information in the search results. Thanks to Andrew Veitch for the suggestion. (limi) - Renamed METAL macro "list-item" to "listitem" in news.pt and folder_listing.pt to fix Zope 2.6 compatibility. (limi) - Commented out the javascript that auto-focuses on the first field in a form. There are too many places that causes a lot of trouble by moving focus away from a field in which the user is actually typing.
