Zope CMF 1.4.6 Released

Zope Corporation is pleased to announce the release of version 1.4.6 of the Zope Content Management Framework (CMF). This release consists primarily of bug fixes for version 1.4, released in April, 2003. What is the CMF? The Zope Content Management Framework provides a set of services and content objects useful for building highly dynamic, content-oriented portal sites. As packaged, the CMF generates a site much like the Zope.org site. The CMF is intended to be easily customizable, in terms of both the types of content used and the policies and services it provides. Five 0.1 released (Zope 3 in Zope 2)

Hot on the heels of the Zope X3 3.0.0b2 release, the Five team has released Five 0.1, the first public release of Five. Five is a Zope 2 product that allows you to use Zope 3 technologies in Zope 2, today. Five allows you to use the following Zope 3 technologies in Zope 2: * Zope 3 interfaces * adapters * pages (views), including skins and layers * ZCML, including things like Zope 2 security declarations from ZCML It is possible to add Zope 3 style views to your own Zope 2 objects, or to existing ones, even normal Folders! [ANN] Epoz 0.8.3 released

Hi, I've just released a new version of Epoz (0.8.3) - the cross-browser-wysiwyg-editor for Zope & Plone. Update is recommended for all Plone-Users (and of course for all non-Plone-Users as well...;), because an important bug was fixed when using the portal_factory (http://plone.org/collector/3243) Download Epoz: http://mjablonski.zope.de/Epoz Changes - added a FAQ. Pleae read it before asking questions... - added label for html-source-switch, because many people asked for it. Hope this helps clearing up the meaning of the little checkbox below the wysiwyg-area... - added translations for tidy-messages in the browser-status-bar to en & de. Please note: Don't use any entities if you want to translate, because the browser-status-bar doesn't support entities! - Fixed bug: missing form_path in epoz_script_widget caused problems when using portal_factory in Plone. Thanks to Danny Bloemendaal (for detecting the problem) and Geoff Davis for patch! Added a check to wysiwyg_support to detect document-creation via portal_factory. - Fixed bug: the Epoz-Iframe in epoz_script_widget wasn't loaded via an absolute url, so browsers could complain when running Epoz via https. ANN: Vancouver Python Workshop - Talk deadline extended

What's new? =========== The deadline for talk submission for the Vancouver Python Workshop has been extended until June 22nd. This is mainly due to schedule disruptions caused by the EuroPython conference but also because we are looking for a more diverse group of speakers i.e. not just Python luminaries. So far, we have received many interesting talk submissions, concerning: o Windows programming in Python o MacOS X programming in Python o Python IDE construction o Zope/Plone (custimization, working with DBs, debugging, etc.) o Python's future o Python programming techniques (optimization, constaints, blocks and views, etc.) o Pyrex o Prothon o Pygame o Twisted o Python in business Speakers include: o Guido van Rossum (the creator of Python) o Paul Everitt (co-founder of Zope Corp) o David Ascher (author of "Learning Python" & "The Python Cookbook") o Andy McKay (author of "The Definitive Guide to Plone") o Kevin Altis (wxPython & PythonCard developer) o Paul Prescod (core Python developer - XML libraries) o Trent Mick (core Python developer - logging & 64-bit port) But we would like more typical Python programmers to submit talks as well! Issue Dealer[1] is a issue management tool featuring a weblog publisher (client), weblog (server), WebDAV client, WYSIWYG editing of HTML and Images and more.
