Nuxeo and Nexedi to organize a CPS/ERP5 sprint in Paris by the end of August 2004

We're organizing a CPS/ERP5 in Paris in August. If you have questions, ask to the cps-erp5-sprint mailing lists. Hope to see you in Paris. S. -- Nuxeo and Nexedi to organize a CPS/ERP5 sprint in Paris by the end of August 2004 Goal: to transfer competencies between developers, to bootstrap new developments, and to reinforce and enlarge the CPS and ERP5 developers communities Dates: 25-27 August 2004 (to be confirmed, might change to 27-29 if many participants prefer to work over the week-end) Participants: Nexedi and Nuxeo developers, and external developers interested by CPS and/or ERP5. Warning: only experimented Zope+CMF developers, with at least a first contact with CPS or ERP5, will be invited. You should at least have some experience developing new products for the CMF using Python. We're expecting between 8 and 20 persones overall. Place: Paris, 20th arrondissement. Programme: first day will be devoted to lectures and discussions on the CPS and ERP5 architectures, and on the project to start during the sprint. The following two days will be devoted to implementation, using pair-programming and test-driven development, under the guidance of one or several coaches (experimented developers from Nuxeo and Nexedi). Projects: one of the project will be to improve CPS / ERP5 integration. Hardware: people will need to come with their own laptops. We will provide Ethernet and WiFi access. If someone can come with a beamer (video-projector), great, otherwise we will rent one. Zope/Python Users Group in Washington, DC Re-Formed

After a hiatus, a new group for Python, Zope, and Plone programmers in DC is forming. Our goal is to network and further educate ourselves on programming in Python. While not exclusively for Zope or Plone developers, we expect there to be a focus for these technologies. We have a formation meeting scheduled: Thursday, July 8th 7:00pm-9:00pm Porter Novelli Board Room, 1909 K Street NW. This is very close to both the red line and orange lines of the DC Metro, and close to many restaurants and bars. For information on the meeting, please see http://zpugdc.org/meetings/mtg1. At our first meeting, we'd like to plan the group and gauge interest for regular meetings and presentations. After the meeting, we'll likely adjourn to a nearby bar for a round of drinks. zope.org maillists - subscriber-only posting policy being favored

I instituted a subscriber-only posting policy on the zope(a)zope.org list at the end of last week (friday afternoon), and haven't encountered any problems with it. In the process we learned that gmail postings are *not* inhibited (to the contrary, gmail postings circumvent the policy, for which we'll have to compensate), and that the policy generally works quite well. The rejection message on these lists includes hints about why the message got rejected and how to enable posting from alternate addresses, so legitimate posters should have recourse if they need it. However, let me know if you get stuck with problems. On tuesday i started to apply the policy to all the applicable lists i manage, and recommend it for all zope.org lists. Death to spam.
