ZPublisher publishes modules over various network protocols. If you think about it, Zope is just one (really) big python module. To ZPublisher, there is no difference between your python module and Zope's. So, the quick and dirty way to publish your module would be with the quick and dirty webserver that comes with Zope, ZopeHTTPServer. The synopsis of the command to do this is: ZopeHTTPServer.py [-p <port>] [-t] [-h <host address>] <path to module> var=value,] <path to module> is the path to the module you want to publish. Misspelling?

I see that Zope 2 includes a module called zdeamon.py. Is this a misspelling or just a weird inside joke? This word is usually spelled "daemon" or "demon", afaik. [ANN: Zope source and binaries for Windows v3]

Hi all, I've posted a new release of the Zope source (and binary) patches. Located at http://student.uq.edu.au/~s341625/ temporarily until I move to a machine with a faster network connection. This file includes: * Binaries for Zope under windows * Makefiles for Visual C 5.0+ * Scripts to generate the above You need the Python 1.5.2 and Zope a2 sources to use the binaries. What's new? * Patches & fixes so it works with SquishDot * Streamlined install * Binary patches so the DC staff can get back to work instead of answering questions about windows binaries ;) * Modified README.txt slightly NOTE: This file is completely unsupported but does work;) I suggest people using old versions upgrade as old versions may have other, undiscovered bugs. Problem with ZClass and property sheets?

Hi, I was playing around with ZClasses with the 2.0 alpha release and I think I may have run into a bug (or else I have something conceptually wrong...) I created a Product through-the-web and then created a ZClass within my newly created product. I then went to the Property Sheets tab, created a property sheet and began defining some properties. All fine so far... Then I created another property sheet. I went into this property sheet and began adding some properties. When I added a property with the same name as a property in a *different* property sheet Zope complained with the following: -------------------------------------------------------------- Zope Error Zope has encountered an error while publishing this resource. Bad Request Invalid property id, address. It is in use. When I click on this link it loads the Help interface (the top level help frameset which loads the left and right help frames). Documentation Announcement

Hello Zope Community, Digital Creations is dedicated to provide up to date documentation. I have accepted the technical writer position to provide a focal point for all documents. We are commited to producing quality document and have established a plan to deliver. As part of our new documentation process, we will not release a new version until it is reasonably documented. The technical writer will publish the documents on the http://www.zope.org site. Along with new releases, bundled text files (changes.txt, install.txt & readme.txt) will provide necessary information about the individual projects. All DC documents will be available as Guides and HowTo's. The Guides and HowTo's will be available on the new Zope site and it promises to be exciting. In the works is the Zope Developer's Guide (ZDG) and the Zope Administration Guide (ZAG). The developer's guide will contain information targeted towards the developers. The administration guide will provide tidbits helpful for the content managers. Please feel free to submit suggestions for documentation efforts, they should be posted to Collector. Your two NameError tracebacks means that the AUTHENTICATED_USER object that gets passed into the NotMail DTML is not an imapUser object, but probably a regular Zope User object. First off, 1) are you logging into NotMail from a *seperate* browser than the one you're tweaking the manage interface in? If not, then NotMail will fail to authenticate you (because the browser says your a zope user(the manager), not an imap user (which Zope should have no idea about)), and acquisition will kick in, thus autenticating you against a higher up user folder and returning a regular Zope User object instead of an imapUser object as it's expecting. Another possbility is that you don't have the roles set right in the folder which contains NotMail, and that you have a user in Zope with the same userid and password as the imap user you *want* to authenticate as. So, NotMail challenges you, you enter the imap user id and password, it fails because the roles are set wrong, and then the same thing happens: NotMail steps up to a higher level folder and successfuly autenticates you there (because the two users have identical information) and returns NotMail a regular Zope User object, instead of an imapUser object. You should have a role in the NotMail folder called 'NotMail' or 'IMAPUser' (or whatever you configure in the NotMail's IMAPAdapter) and that Role should have the Access Contents Information, View, Browse NotMail, Browse IMAPAdapter,and NotMail User permissions. If either of these is the case, it is a bug in NotMail to step up to a higher level user folder (which I suspect is what's going on) to authenticate, since 99% of the time it is worthless to try and authenticate against any other user folder other than the IMAPAdapter. Also, NotMail should intelligently know to add it's own Role and correctly set the permissions... but it doesn't.
