Resize a image stored in a Oracle's BLOB Field

Hello, Thanks, I have displayed the images which them was stored in a Oracle's BLOB field, with: <dtml-call expr="RESPONSE.setHeader('content-type','image/jpeg')"> <dtml-in SQLMethod_with_a_Only_Row> <dtml-var expr="BLOB_FIELD.read()"> </dtml-in> However, I would like to resize this image. I can not do it with the "height" and "width" attributes, because the image is obtained from a Oracle's BLOB field, and no from image object (i.e.: I can not use <dtml-var "ImageObject.tag(border='5', align='left')">). How can I do it ? Thanks again !

As a side effect to turn off acquisition, you defined the attribute. ANNOUNCE: PartitionedFileStorage

For all who are interested in breaking database size barriers without moving to Oracle or Berkeley Storage, here's something to try out. http://www.zope.org/Members/hathawsh/PartitionedFileStorage I *highly* recommend you back up Data.fs before installing. What is known to work: - Reads and writes of logical files greater than 3 GB on versions of Linux that support only 2 GB files. - Undo and packing. - Fast random reads and writes. - Using simple binary concatenation to move back to a standard single file. - Using PartitionedFile completely independent of Zope or ZODB. What has not been tested, but will very likely work: - Tranalyzer. - Putting the partitions on different physical devices. (Poor man's RAID :-) ) What couldn't be tested by my limited resources: - Platforms other than Linux. - Running this on a busy Zope site. (No, www.zope.org is not running PartitionedFileStorage. :-) ) BTW to all in the U.S., Happy Thanksgiving! Shane

__bobo_traverse__, new ZCatalog and ZClasses

Zope 2.3, from cvs on 2000-12-24, patched with Chris P's latest ZCatalog stuff. I'm getting a bad interaction between ZClasses, ZCatalog and __bobo_traverse__. I have some ZClasses that are accessed via a container that implements __bobo_traverse__. The problem is that, although I can get to the ZClass instances by typing a URL into by browser, I get a security error when I try to get to them using restrictedTraverse. This causes a problem, as it means these instances cannot be catalogued in a ZCatalog, because ZCatalog now uses restrictedTraverse to get an object for indexing. The zope security validation gets stuck between not knowing for sure what the object's container is (according to comments from Traversable.py), and ZClasses not returning anything for __roles__. ZPatterns jargon paragraph: All this causes a problem if you want to use the ZPatterns idiom of ZClass DataSkins in a Specialist, catalogued using a ZCatalog. You can get around it by providing a __roles__ attribute using SkinScript. Is there some bug in the ZClasses __roles__ machinery? When does __roles__ get set on objects or classes anyway? I've found the description of what __roles__ are used for in the old Trinkets tutorial document. I think things have moved on a bit since then, though. ZPatterns question

Hi there! Finally I managed to get a basic understanding of how to do things with ZPatterns ;-) So seems quite cool :) (and hopefully I find some time to write some basic howto about it) But I have some little questions: 1. Is it possible to retrieve the set of known IDs from a specialist? Or would I need to add my own method to it which does this (and change it accordingly if I switch to another storage method)? 2. Is it planned to provide something like a virtual folder which acts like a normal object manager but is controlled via ZPatterns (so actually something like Folder with Customizer Support just without the "anchor" in ZODB. (would also require some mechanism asked for in 1.) 3. Is it possible to use ZPatterns also without some exta ZClass defined in a Product? At least if I don't need methods for my objects but simple want to define the attribute they know. Would be nice as I could then hold everything together in one place (the specialist that is) without requiring to install something also in the Products folder of the Control Panel. objectIds -- accesible for everyone -- why?

If you type in http://www.zope.org/Members/objectIds you get a list of all Members. Although it is a useful feature.. ;) .. I can't really see why objectIds should be available for everyone, at any given time. Is this a bug or a feature? -Morten

How to confuse the publishing process

If you go to a URL that ends in a folder, you get the index_html in that folder, right? Well, yes and no... If you go to: http://server.com/folder1/folder2/folder1 ...where folder1 is a folder in your Zope's root, folder2 is contained in folder1, but doesn't itself contain a folder1 (so the last folder1 in the url is also the first one, just acquired), Zope returns the following: <html><head> <base href="http://localhost:8080/testnav/normaltest/testnav/"> </head> <body> <Folder instance at 014B3D80> </body> </html> So, what's going on here? why no index_html rendering? cheers, Chris
