zc.recipe.testrunner 1.4.0 no longer supports environment option?

Hi, I have a test section in buildout (version 1.5.2) which uses the environment option to get os.environ configs into the test script. But the environment configuration does not show up in the generated script. The recipe I use is zc.recipe.testrunner 1.4.0 and Python 2.5 (virtualenv). When running the tests of zc.recipe.testrunner with this Python many of them fail including the test for the environment option. Is it intensional that zc.recipe.testrunner does not run when using a virtualenv'ed Python? P.S.: The Bugtracker of this project https://bugs.launchpad.net/zc.recipe.testrunner is currently disabled, so I was unable to put this there. versions on zope.org and launchpad.net

hi all, there is a different version set on zope.org and launchpad. on http://www.zope.org/Products/Zope/swpackage_releases there are zope 2.8.12, 2.9.12, 2.10.13 and 2.11.8 available, where on launchpad they are not. IMO it would be better to move all versions up to launchpad and drop the download section on zope.org (and zope.org will be soon relaunched anyways). cheers, johannes raggam

zc.async.queue.DispatcherAgents last_ping

Hi Gary, or any other zc.async developer, we use zc.async in one site and I noticed there's a hell of a lot of write transactions caused by it. Every 30 seconds there's a zope.minmax.Maximum() by the name of last_ping stored. It looks like this is coming from zc.async.queue.DispatcherAgents and the 30 seconds are a result of a class variable stating: "ping_interval = datetime.timedelta(seconds=30)" I tried to understand what this last_ping is used for and it seems to have to do with detection of dead workers. Is that indeed the only thing it's used for? If so can we change it in our setup to be 15 minutes instead without any big problems (other than potentially not having any active worker for 15 minutes)? Ideally I'd like to get avoid storing such information in the ZODB at all and would much prefer a volatile attribute, a thread local or something on the filesystem. But maybe I'm missing something here were this information needs to be shared across workers running on different machines. While the size of the transaction is only 140 bytes each, the overhead of new transactions is massive. Any insights appreciated, Hanno

weird intermittent error with apache2 and mod_wsgi

Hi All, Apologies for the cross post, but this problem is occurring with a repoze.bfg app running on apache using mod_wsgi, and the exception is suggesting something zope.interface related... So, firstly, it only happens intermittently, and I haven't been able to figure out any pattern to the exceptions. It didn't used to happen at all (this app has been happily running for a year or so now) but I can't think of anything that's changed on the machine in question that might cause this. Restarting Apache does appear to cure it for a bit... The Plone Hotfix for CVE-2011-0720 included patches to PluggableAuthService. If you use PluggableAuthService outside of Plone then you need to update to a release that includes that fix. If you don't run PluggableAuthService it is not required to install it. Laurence
