How to override __getattr__ and not break acquisition

Ok I need to override __getattr__ in one of my product classes. I'm sure this is killing acquisition but not sure about the persistence stuff (I think this is working). Is there a way to make this work? Here is what I'm doing: def __getattr__(self, name): if name == 'myattr': return self.myattr() I assume that somewhere in the Acquisition code there is a __getattr__ but I can't find it. I tried calling Implicit.__getattr__ but its not there. If some one has an example that would be great. -EAD

I looked a few weeks ago, and it's deep in the C code, and grep-proof besides :-) Look in ZODB/cPersistence.c, grep for "'m'" (with single quotes). My conclusion was that it was very tied to the ZODB and that setting it would probably break the serial or transaction mechanisms. Note that in most projects, people now deal with an explicit 'modication_date' or 'modification' property like you suggested. But this requires setting it whenever the object changes. locking bug?

Hi list. When an object locked via WebDAV (i.e. the external editor) and you copy this object using the ZMI, the copied object ist also locked. This makes it impossible to modify it for some time. I doubt that this is a feature, but you never know... mfg AND -- I doubt, therefore I might be.

Hi all, I want to learn more about caching in Zope on Database side and on CacheManagers. Is there corelation between performance and caching via Database Cache Parameters and StandardCacheManagers ? I need a guide thru optimization of performance using the right cacheung technic. Regards, Dirk

error with libraries that I'm not using anymore

Hello, I have a problem using libraries in Zope. I have a Python script that calls a C++ code using libraries. Actually, at the begining I had a test.so library. But now I changed the way to compile my program and I have no test.so library anymore, and when I call my python script via Zope, I have this message : Error Type: ImportError Error Value: test.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory But I don't use the test.so anymore. And when I use the python script alone without Zope it runs whitout any problem! I tried to change the name of my external method to see if it was not a problem of cache but I have still the same problem... Does someone have an idea? Hello, I have a problem using C++ code called by Python in zope. I have a python script that calls a C++ code. When I just use the python script without zope, I can see the messages I printed in the C++ with the "cout" command, but when I call the script via Zope, I can't see these C++ "cout" message anymore! When I print things in my Python scripts using the python "print" i can see them but nothing happends with the C++ "cout"... Does someone know if there is a way to see them?
