Create top-level folder

Part of my product's job is to create a top-level folder. I can have it do that only when, from the management interface's "add function", I add it to the root directory. I would like it to always be able to go to the root directory, regardless of where its added. In order to do this, I need to access the root directory object, but I don't know how. What function can I call to return the root directory object? Any thoughts on when Zope 2.7 beta1 might be available?

Hello: I am using multiple third party Python libraries with Zope, and they are no longer supporting Python 2.1.X at all. I am forced to upgrade to Python 2.2.X As I see it, my options are: 1- try to recompile Zope 2.6.1 from source using Python 2.2.2 (and cross my fingers) 2- wait for the Zope 2.7 I think Python 2.2.2 support is the most important feature for me in Zope 2.7 -- frankly I wouldn't care if that were its *only* new feature beyond what 2.6.1 supports Can anyone over at ZC give a rough ballpark estimate for when we might see a first beta of 2.7? Call Product Constructor

This is the __init__.py of my product (ZID): from ZIDProduct import ZID def initialize ( context ): context.registerClass( ZID, constructors = ( ZID.manage_addZIDForm, ZID.manage_addZID, ZID.manage_add_folder ) ) I want the constructor ZID.manage_add_folder to get called at the end of the initialize function. ConflictError

Hi all, i have a little problem with the following log-entry in my logfile. 2003-03-28T10:09:18 INFO(0) ZODB conflict error at /foo/bar/tab_kopf (1 conflicts since startup at 2003-03-28T10:09:03). After searching through several mailinglists i found that this error seem to occur when using sessions, i'am right ? But my problem is, that tab_kopf is a ImageFile defined in my Product. tab_kopf = ImageFile('www/tab_kopf.gif',globals()) I dont understand how there could be a ConflictError on a Image ? I hope someone could give me a tip whats going on. Thanks in advance, as

Documenting products with epydoc

Hi, I use to document my (non Zope) python packages using epydoc that's (IMHO) the best python documentation tool (javadoc like great features). http://epydoc.sourceforge.net/ Unfortunately, this does not work with Zope products (usual pydoc doesn't too). How can I make a fixure to get it working ? Did any of you succeed documenting Zope products with epydoc ? Thanks in advance --Gilles

Connection Refference

I am creating a product which has classes that override the Folder class so that my class controls access to some folders that it creates. From within the Folder class, specificially when the _setOb, _getOb and _delOb methods are called, is there a way to get access to the connection object/reference to the user that is making changes to the folders?
