Zope 2.6.0 ZMI Problem for CJK(Collector 623) patch.

Hi ! Zope 2.6.0 have a problem for non 'iso-8859-1' user. And Collector 623 is still incollect now. http://collector.zope.org/Zope/623 It's serious problem for CJK(I'm Japanese). So I make patch for 2.6.0. http://www005.upp.so-net.ne.jp/zope260-i18n-20021123.diff 1.Install $ cd $(INST_HOME) $ patch -p0 <zope260-i18n-20021123.diff 2.Usage Set attribute 'default_charset'(string type) as 'foo' some Folder object. And after you can set 'foo' charset in the Folder object via ZMI. 3.Attension Python need to recognize 'foo' encoding. (You need install adaptable Codec) I try with 'euc-jp' charset, and I think any charset is available. (But my browser can request only Japanese encoding charset.) thanks

Zope 2.6.1 beta 2 deferred until January

With the holiday schedule and people being on vacation, we have decided to defer issuing a Zope 2.6.1 beta 2 release until after the first of January, to avoid the necessity of creating a beta 3 release (because of any potential bugs in beta 2 not found due to people being away.) Have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

What prompted this? What does it fix? I don't see that quotes need escaping here. Also, there should be a unit test for it. (And if it's a fix it should be in HEAD too.) FYI: added Web Services Zope 3 sub-project

(Copying zope-dev because I'm not sure all of the people who started on this discussion are on zope3-dev yet. Lets use zope3-dev moving forward) Hi all - There has been a bit of discussion recently regarding plans for web services in Zope 3, with a number of people expressing interest in moving this forward (and possibly scheduling some WS sprints to kick-start the process). For those who've been paying attention to those threads, I've set up a Zope 3 sub-project at: http://dev.zope.org/Wikis/DevSite/Projects/ComponentArchitecture/WebServices ...with a start at some organization and artifacts (largely cribbed from the old Z2 WS project). Please take a look and feel free to jump in an refine, comment or refactor. I think ZBabel keeps all translated text in a central database while Localizer keeps the text tight together with the object instances ... there are pro and contra for both solutions ... I will probably implement some product that export/import Localizer objects to XLIFF. That would be the best solution I think. I would like to export Zope objects localizible text (title, abstract, error messages, pieces of HTML, metadata etc ... ) and send this information to the translators who use XML-enabled tools in order to translate text into several languages. Often we are not able to let translators access the ZMI and input the translations directly into Zope, they are not familiar with Zope and they have to use the proffesional translation tools with all the features included (spell checking, thesaurus, work-flow, translation memories etc...). It would be a nightmare to insert all the translations into Zope via the ZMI and Localizer. It works ok for a small size of text. Where can I find the Zope XML DTD ?

Hi, I'm not sure if this is the right forum, but I've search in other lists without any success. In Zope there is an XML-export as everybody knows. My question is: does anybody know if there is a DTD for the Zope produced XML and where I can find it? Why I ask for it? If I have a DTD I could use Zope objects exported in XML and use them in external XML processing tools with validation. A practical examples is to use them together with XML enabled translations tools like Trados TagEditor. Then you can just export a Zope object, send it for translation to the translators and get back all the translated objects ready to import into Zope via ZMI (no more time on boring copy and paste). Collector 697 should be critical!!!

Hi, http://collector.zope.org/Zope/697 should be set to critical, because it results in loosing essential data. Case: We store much of our "Keywords" etc. in multiple-selects. Everytime a user edits and saves such a multiple-select, all items with NON-Ascii-characters [german umlaute for example] won't be shown as selected cause of the bug. So the next "Save Changes" will loose all this items. I don't know where's the best place to fix this issue, but it need to be fixed as soon as possible... Cheers, Maik

Bug in ExternalMethods?

I think I've found a bug in ExternalMethod, but I don't know if it's already been fixed or not. Basically, the call signature of ExternalMethods seems to get mixed up sometimes. I'm running Zope 2.5.1 on Linux.
