This is a known deficiency in XMLDocument. mod_pcgi2 lacks per-server merge function

Hello! Today I found that my module mod_pcgi2 lacks per-server config merge. It was a little surprise for me :))) as I never used Zope with Apache's virtual domains. It is not a bug, and can easily be overcome by Apache admin (by copying all neccessary PCGI_* directives into all virtual server configurations). The question is: should I provide per-server merge in the module? How much people already use the module? with virtual servers? how many virtual servers? What lists are we on? I am writing the message to both Zope and ZopeDev lists as I do not understand clearly to what list the message belongs... appending %20 to zclass-methods ids

bug or feature ? explanation: I modified the load_site.py script so that I can also edit dtml-methods and dtml-documents with a command like: load_site -u user:pass -v -e http://zope.host.com/test index_html this works for normal Zope-folders since it actually calls: http://zope.host.com/test/index_html/manage_edit using client.py When I create a zclass, and define a zclass-method index_html, this is actually named "index_html%20" so that my call: http://zope.host.com/test/Products/Classname/propertysheets/methods/index_h… fails, with "..../index_html%20/manage_edit" it works. this "%20" is always appended to zclass-method-ids, why ? The xmldocument product do not accept utf-8 document with Chinese and European characters. In a possible future scenario, I may have a Zope server running on linux while having an oracle db on a vms machine. I wanted to make sure this can be easily set up without having to deal with oracle stuff. That's why I asked for ODBC first. In fact ODBC is preferable to me because there may be even (god help us all) Access dbs. Zope hanging on high loads

Hi, we are using Zope to develop some pretty complex web-sites (http://www.tradinglab.com) and we are encountering some serious problems with high loads. apparently, sometimes, zope does not answer to the pcgi-wrapper and after some minutes we have tens (60+) of pcgi-wrapper processes hanging with only a few in the "ready" state. all the others are sleeping waiting for zope to answer. that happens with every version of zope from 1.0.0 up. if there is some acrtion I can take to send you a more informative bug report, please let me know, thank you very much for your time, federico -- Federico Di Gregorio MIXAD LIVE System Programmer fog(a)mixadlive.com Debian GNU/Linux Developer & Italian Press Contact fog(a)debian.org Best friends are often failed lovers. -- Me
