MessageDialog()

Hi, all I am putting together a ZClasses product and am using a custom property sheet. I want to use MessageDialog from lib/python/App/Dialogs.py to respond back "Your changes have been saved!" consistent with the other standard property sheets. But MessageDialog does not seem to be available in _. In the mean time, I have copied it and put it into a DTML Method. It works fine, but I would rather use the standard function for consistency in case it changes in the future. 1. Is MessageDialog available to DTML Methods, and I have just not found the trick? 2. ZCatalog and national language searching

Well, doing a reindex fixed the problem, but I seriously doubt anybody accidentally assigned this particular keyword to that particular object. So it looks to me like there may be a bug hiding in the catalog indexing code somewhere. I wonder if it is related to that index error that nobody can reproduce? --RDM

sort_on in newer versions of zcatalog..?

Catalog text search returns unexpected hit

I have a large catalog, and I'm performing a search on a very modest subset of that catalog (searching with a meta_type= that selects from among about 200 objects). For the most part things are working as expected, but I have at least one case where a search term brings up a particular object that does *not* have that search term in the field on which the search is performed. Has anyone else seen anything like this, and does anyone know how I can go about inspecting the guts of the catalog to try to figure out why this object is coming up when it shouldn't? --RDM

problems rendering a dtml method

hi, here again with problems in the Translator product: inside the render() method of the dtml-localize tag i do some magic to find suitable Translators and then i ask them for the argument of the tag. sometimes this argument is a dtml method inside a subfolder and the object returned (by a default getitem()) is an Acquisition.ImplicitAcquirerWrapper. the method uses some properties dtml-let-ed above (the properties are there, i can see them in the md passed as an argument to render()) but i don't know how to pass the md to it. using something like: for t in translators: try: v = t.translate(val) if hasattr(v, '__call__'): return v(md) else: return str(v) except AttributeError: pass raise AttributeError(val) but the v(md), obviously does not work and i get an AttributeError from inside the dtml method. any ideas? federico -- Federico Di Gregorio MIXAD LIVE System Programmer fog(a)mixadlive.com Debian GNU/Linux Developer & Italian Press Contact fog(a)debian.org Don't dream it. product creation problem..

trying to make Johanc's IEmethod product fit into our intranet, i modified it to inherit from DTMLdocument instead of method, and modified __call__ in it by cut'n paste from DTMLdocument and adding : std_html_header= apply(HTML.__call__, (self.standard_html_header,bself, REQUEST), kw) std_html_footer= apply(HTML.__call__, (self.standard_html_footer,bself, REQUEST), kw) out = std_html_header + r + std_html_footer return out to make it include standard_html_header and footer.. Everything works nicely, except it seems it cannot see objects outside itself.. As my header and footer references other methods in my site, things break and i get nameerrors.. Raising HTTP response codes from PythonMethods

In DTML I can do <dtml-raise Redirect>&dtml-BASE0</dtml-raise> and I'll get redirected to BASE0, since the exception is converted into a HTTP response code. How can I do the same in a PM? I'm trying to get a NotModified header to be returned, aborting the transaction while I'm at it. -- Itamar S.T. itamars(a)ibm.net
